Ernie Fletcher Concedes...

Featured Replies

Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya Ernie! I think Beshear will be fine, Fletch and Bush pretty muched ruined it for all Republicans in the state, Dems won most of the races!

Seriously, on that last point, do you think most of those who voted for Sec of State, Attorney General, Ag commissioner have a clue on any of the positions that these guys stand for.

Richie got elected because he played ball at UK.

The Dems got elected because they have a D besides their name.

He's not MY governor.

He is if you are a resident of Kentucky!

But we can't be that much worse off either. Fletcher completely ruined it for the Repubs. He hurt himself from the start messing with the teacher's healthcare and almost causing a sick out. The pay raises they got this year was a make up to try to get their votes back. Guess what Ernie Fletcher is a LOSER!!

I have heard the teacher's healthcare issue many times and those that believe that are falling for the normal political ploys. Fletcher tried to get the legislature to address the problem created many moons ago and they wouldn't. Didn't want to lose the votes of the teachers.

So, he addressed and when the teachers got upset, the legislature rode in to supposedly save the day. Politics worked and by holding this against Fletcher, the voters become enablers telling the politicians to continue as usual instead of trying to solve issues as Fletcher did.

You're right on this one. And the sad part about the Ag race is that there were actually 2 better qualified candidates that didn't make it out of the primary.

The problem I have, and distrust, with Democrats, is that I'm afraid they will tax the working man to death to pay for entltlement programs (which I have always believed are a 1/2 way method of vote buying). We have enough hand outs and give-away easy money programs already. Please don't give us anymore. LBJ and his like perfected this method with his Great Society programs, and others picked up the ball and ran with it.

This is a bigger problem on the national level than the state, but it does exist. I believe in welfare for those that need it, but it has gotten out of hand.

I thought most gov't works/society programs were credited with FDR after the Great Depression??

More accurately, because they don't have an R besides their name.

LBJ was the one who created much of the current welfare climate during his "Great Society" plan. It came from his hard life in childhood and seeing poor Texans struggle. He had a good heart for society problems but not always the best idea on how to fix them.

He tried to only give them one insurance to choose from. That was the Bluegrass Health that a very good friend of his was the CEO. You can't say he didn't try to screw the teachers. Deny it all you want, but you know the raises was a vote buy attempt. I have a lot at stake my wife is a teacher and I see how much the repubs care about teachers and firefighters( NONE AT ALL) Fletcher didn't solve any problems in healthcare for the teachers as a matter of fact he took more of their money. The teachers that do not use the health insurance that money is put into a flexible spending account. We were getting $234.00/ mth and is down to $175.00/mth. So they took a little over $600.00 from my family in health benefits we were entitled to.

Please explain why you are entitled to them? I have had no issues with my health care plans.

The Health inusrance program was messed up long before he came into office. The legislators would not address it. He made them.

I will agree that the raises were an attempt to buy a vote.

Keep your hands on your wallets. It's just a matter of time before Beshear tries to get into them.

My thoughts exactly.

Very much so, I don't trust them at all.

Back to the previous 40 years of corrupt Democrat rule....

Unfortunately 59% of Kentuckians apparently liked that kind of rule.:irked:

In name only. I distrust, disagree and pretty much abhor his "plans" for our state. He and Mongiardo will take their four years of glory and bring our state into the pit of moral decay. So, he is NOT my governor because I didn't vote for him, don't agree with and won't support him. ;)

I guess if you like only having one option for insurance it was an okay thing. Most state or Federal jobs you have a choice of insurance carriers or plans so the employee can choose what is best for them. Also the state didn't cut down on what they spend on the insurance package, but why penalize those that choose not to take the state insurance plan. We should receive the same amount in our flexible spending account that they are paying for everyone elses insurance. No instead the cut our benefit. You are right it has been a problem not wanting to be faced, but you don't tell people you are only getting one option and that option be a good friend and supporter. Absolutly wrong on many ethical levels.
