Elections, Affections and Other Late-Nighter Shenanigans Thread

Featured Replies

Word.

I recently picked up his Excitable Boy album and I've been listening to it a lot. Anyway, I stumbled into an acoustic version of Lawyers, Guns and Money, and it's sounds great, so, naturally, I wanted to learn how to play it. No tabs (not any good ones at least). So I've decided to tab it myself. I thought this would be an appropriate mission for the late nighters...help Habib find some chords.

No fair talking about Warren when I'm not around. :irked:

Ever listened to the Jimmy Buffet or Hank Jr version of Lawyers, Guns and Money?

No, but I have serious problems with the idea of either of those goofs doing a great song like that.

I've always been a big fan of his. I can't remember if it was a documentary or a t.v. special but I saw something a few years back made when he was dieing. Most of it was home footage of him with family and friends, it was extremely sad but the insight he had on life was unbelievable and extremely intriguing. I also remember some cool clips of him and Hunter S. Thompson that I think I'm going to look for...

It was a VH1 documentary. Pretty touching stuff.

Got a great day of destruction tomorrow! Heavy equipment is fun!

Were he and Hunter S. friends? Being the resident Dr. Thompson and music expert, you're the guy to ask.

See: "Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner," which was allegedly written about him. Also, the line "he'll rip your lungs out, Jim" from "Werewolves ..." was lifted directly from Thompson's earlier writings. They were great friends.

Excitable Boy is an all-time great album.

No love for the College Football thread tonight? :D

LBJ is close to having a Triple Double vs the Jazz.....Beginning of 3rd quarter.

Two nights in a row I've made into my old home, the late-night thread. My God, what's become of me? I've turned into a morning person, against all my better judgment.

Yeah Schue...You used to be a regular...

Apparently some team named Kentucky lost tonight. They keep talking about this fellow named Tubby but I see nothing in the Box Score with his name on it.

I stopped watching at halftime, it almost made me not enjoy my hooters.. BTW, when did Hooters start making their BBQ wings spicy?
