WHY do they have a track IN the endzone? I agree with you, cleats could get you killed!!!!

 

Before the renovation there was a very small corner of the endzone that was on the track coverd with turf. Why it was there, who knows? But it is fixed. Also, in all my years playing on that field and watching games (over 25 years) I have never seen or heard of any player getiing hurt in the tiny corner of the endzone.

No big deal. I never saw anyone get hurt when I played there either. If you remember, Highlands old field had a piece of the corner of the north endzone that went out almost onto the concrete. No one ever got hurt to my knowledge on that either. That's why they wear all those pads...........:banana:

Glad to hear of the renovation. I saw a playoff game there where a receiver hit that corner and fell on his back with his feet coming out from under him. He didn't get hurt but I could see a knee injury in the works on a fade. There wasn't any turf covering the track either back then. Happy to hear of the improvements.......

Dayton has a brick wall in one endzone and it doesn't feel to good!!

The only one I can think of is Newport vs Newport Catholic.

Brosart also uses Npt.They were home team when they played Npt.

Somebody tell me, why doesn't Newport Catholic get their own field? It's not that difficult with the money they have. Besides the Newport field is horrible by the end of the season and the track they have running THROUGH the end zone is pathetic when you are wearing cleats.

 

If they don't get their own field then maybe Newport's PUBLIC field should be upgraded by both schools (maybe turf). Just a thought, not to mention separation of church and state:cool:

 

Didn't mean to start a public/private issue. It's not about that but if you've seen a game on that field you know what I'm saying. Most of the time there is a late season playoff game there and it diminishes the quality of the games.

The money they have ??? Where are you from ?:fire: Newports stadium and field were upgraded and is now one of the best facilities in Northern Kentucky bar none.

New Cath does not have a field. They use Newport's field for their home games. So every on alternating years New Cath is considered the home team.

 

NewCath is never considered the HOME team when they are playing Newport on Newport's field.

 

I hope NCC gets a field on the hill that would be great for the school and players.

punttheball is correct. Every other year, NCC is considered the home team. They are in the same district now, so starting this year, his statement is correct.

Before both landed in the same district this year the NCC/Newport was always a home game for Newport which helped pay for the use of the field by NCC. Now that is replaced by the Newport Bowl double-header that Newport hosts where Newport plays in the second game and NewCath in the first game.
