Lewis County senior wide receiver J.T. Britt caught 19 passes in tonight's 55-6 win over Bracken County.

 

According to the KHSAA, Franklin-Simpson's Patrick West also caught 19 passes in a game, in 2002. However, these records have not been updated since the beginning of this season.

 

Unless someone has topped him this year, Britt is now the co-record holder for receptions in a game. Congratulations!

And he has 99 catches on the year a new state record for most receptions in a year! Congrats to J.T.!

Congrats on the single game record. However, John Cole had 59 catches in the regular season and should, barring a big upset have 4 games to add to that total so the single season record isn't secure yet. If I'm not mistaken Lewis is done aren't they?

Congratulations to Mr. Britt, an excellent testament to his ability, and a great accomplishment for Lewis Co. A definite bright spot for the Lewis Co program, and it will hopefully spur some excitement for the program.

I've seen every game of J.T.'s this year and he was impressive in all. I am a Lewis Co. fan so I tend to favor the boys from Lewis Co, but no matter where there from this is some kind of feat. Mr. Britt is also attempting to lead the state in receiving yards a game. He was third going into last nights game but I'm guessing he had well over 200 yards which will make him close. Great season to J.T. and give credit to his quarterback and coaches who kept the boys playing hard and lead to this great accomplishment.

As you can see J.T. Britt had 19 for 264, which puts him at 1360 yards on the year.

 

Andy Downing threw 443 on 35 completions of 49 attempts. Which puts him over the 2000 yard mark for passing on the season. He also had 5 touchdown throws and 1 interception (correct me if I am wrong). Which that puts Andy Downing at 19 touchdown passes and 15 interceptions on the season.

He did visit with Rich Brooks and the rest of the U.K. staff at the game against LSU along with Jake Bolander, a junior defensive lineman for Lewis Co, and a number of other kids from around the state. I don't know how much talk actually went on, but Coach Combs, who was a weight training coach at U.K., took the boys to meet with him. And besides U.K., I don't think anybody has really contacted him that he is interested in. It would be great to see him get an opportunity to play but I'm not sure if he has collegiate speed and size. He can definitely catch the ball, though.
