Mason should be the preseason #1, than the Lex. Cath's, Scott Co"s....and the rest of the usuals will follow. The only thing that could stop Mason is if Miller would to become injured, than the 10th could be a little more competitive than most think.

 

Miller is a very good player and seems to be a very good person, so let's hope he goes injury free and Mason and Mr. Miller get there run!!

 

Interesting, "rest of the usuals" is what we call the other programs outside of Mason, Scott Cty, and LC. Curious, why would all other fans outside of Mason County's followers hope that Mason makes (their) run?

Take away 40 plus points and nearly 3/4th of the teams assists and your best defensive stopper and thats enough to make any team average. Scott County is not the same team as last year. The Scott County program has earned the right and deserves to be #1 at the start of the season. Will they deserve to be #1 in the middle and the end of this coming season? They'll have to earn it just like anyone else in the state.

 

 

For the sake of argument, then why isn't Florida the pre-season number 1 in NCAA basketball this year?

 

Last year SC deserved the state title, because they won it on the court. That was last year....it's history now.

I have already posted that I like Mason County #1 to start the season. As the season approaches it will be very interesting as I think Lex Cath will play both Scott County and Mason during the regular season. The addition of V Sanford is huge for LC. I think he is a perfect fit for their team and will be an impact player. They would have been a very good team without him, but what he brings to the table may put them at the top of the polls come January. It will be interesting to see how things play out.

:thumb: Way to show some class! I believe Mason will be awfully good this year. Its too early to tell who the best team is yet. Its going to be an exciting year though!

Explain why Ballard with only one starter back and no one over 6'3" in the line-up? What makes them the legit team to beat after losing 80% of all their stats and the top defender in the region Johanne Hamilton. Break it down for us. Male, Manual, and Trinity will all be better than Ballard. Just want to hear your reasoning though. Be constructive.

 

Im not gonna say anything about Ballard because I dont know much but I did see them play last year at state and they were a heck of a team!!

Well whoever said Scott County didnt coast last year is 100% wrong. The only game last year that was a struggle was the state championship game. Personally I think Lex Cath should be number 1. Mason County might as well change their name to the Darius Miller all-stars. I still dont think Mason County has a good TEAM which is why they got beat by a mediocore at best GRC team. And the team that is getting no respect that i might even say is my favorite to win it is UHA. UHA has the tools if hopson and his coach can suck it up and get on the same page the state better watch out.

Darius Miller all-stars?? I forgot that Mason has some other decent players Setty??? Middleton??? Im pretty sure that either of those players could start on 99% of kentucky high school teams. Especially Setty with his range.

 

Good post! Miller is the top player, but his teammates have an assist in that when it comes to helping Miller reach the top honors in Kentucky. Miller pulls solid stats and some of that can be due to the fact that Miller can enjoy some freedom (not being doubled and tripled team every possession) due to the fact that the other Mason players can hurt you if you don't pay attention to them. Miller will not win Mr. Basketball alone even if it is an individual award.

That is how we beat them in the region last year. Miller was going to get his. Setty had 13 and we stopped everyone else. Mason is far from a one person team.

Tates Creek is average at best. For Bryan Station, Mack at 6-3 is the tallest starter apparantly and is at the point. Even with little or no height, the Defenders will win by 12 or more.
