Ashland/Russell predictions (Kiwanis Bowl)

Featured Replies

Did you play for Ashland or Russell?

I think Spindoc was just saying he played in the Kiwanis Bowl game. But not the first one between Russell and Ashland. I think he played when Coles and Putnam were the participants. And yes Spindoc, that was a hundred years ago.....:D

Nice to know Spindoc has his roots in the Ashland Independent School System. :thumb:

This is always a really fun night. If you have never attended a Kiwanis Bowl, I highly recommend it. Ashland has a very strong freshman group. They have 2-3 nice running backs, #25 (Not sure of his name, but very very good. Reminds me of Chris Hutt) #24 Harley Davis (I think is his name) and Dylan Delaney #10. QB is Chris Johnson, younger brother of former Tomcat FB Matt Johnson. The line is very big and physical, I think there are a couple 300 lb. er's. Hopefully we can pull out our first win in 3 years.

Ashland 34

Russell 0

Number 25 is Trey Rogers. He moved here from Mississippi after huricane katrina and he does kinda remind me of Chris Hutt as well.

Actually spindoc played for Russell. He's not old enough to have played when it was Coles and Putnam. I was just giving him a hard time.

As old as spindoc is it has to be Coles Jr. High School. :D:D

One of Claude Blanton's boys I bet.

spindoc's school jacket is a coat of many colors.;)

Now he has rooted in yet another school

Love ya sd.

After that I believe his maroon and gold faded together.

Thanks! I've been wanting to know his name for a while. He is elusive, with good speed, and hits the hole quick. He could make a great backfield in a couple of years with Carter and Alber.

Fwiw, I took home quite a bit of the hardware from that contest, as well as had my picture on the cover of the ADI showing me holding the football without the ball completely secured which prompted coach Epling to command me to do 50 pushups.

Oh, and by the way Cubster, Pharoah has placed me 2nd in command and when you run out of food over there where you've sold your soul, come see me and I may be able to throw you a bone!

I think Ashland will win even though they had a tough loss on defense with losing John Stafford to a broken arm and Trey Rodgers is a little banged up...Ashland should cruise.

Ashland looks to have a pretty solid team. I have only seen them play at Greenup and Raceland but they def. pass the look test.

Has the coach' been getting on you and hollering at you? Rams78 or 45.

Ashland wins this game, they should easily get everyone playing time in this game, if not for 2 plays GCHS frosh would still be unbeaten, good luck little Tomcat's. :flame: The Devil's.

If you looked at it from the other side, if not for one play, the Tomcats would have shut them out!

Losing "the hitman" John Stafford was a big loss for the defense. Hopefully Trey Rogers has recovered from getting his knee banged up earlier this year.
