Who is going to start for UK this year?

I've heard this question a lot and i really dont know but i have a guess at whos starting this year. I think Kentucky should run a 4 guard set like Villanova did a couple years ago. Here's who i would start:

PG Derrick Jasper

G Jodie Meeks

G Joe Crawford

G Ramel Bradely

F Patrick Patterson

 

Villanova was succesful with this offense and I think Kentucky can be too.

I like all of these but one, Jasper. I think that Leigon with eventually end up starting for him.

Yeah, he played in Big Blue Madness last night. Crawford looked explosive on the one play when he tried to go baseline and dunk it.....he got mugged by Patterson but still made it. I think he will be a step quicker this year from losing 15 pounds.

I don't see this working in the SEC. SEC is full of big athletic guys in the paint.

The way Jasper looked last night I don't think there is any way he will start over Legion.

It would appear on first impression that it will be hard to keep Legion off the floor.

1 Bradley - it's going to be nice to hold Jasper over his head and make him play to win, not for show...

2 Meeks - toughness and skill... he's my favorite player

3 Legion - the 2nd coming of Ron Mercer

4 Crawford - we will get so much more out of this option at the 4 than we did with Perry or Thomas!

5 Patterson - The only SEC worthy post player on the team

The only reason i have Jasper starting is because he sees the floor very well, he passes the ball well and he can get to the basket if he needs to. Mostly Jasper just needs to find the open man.

Watching Jasper take the floor in Midnight Madness shouldn't make you think he is anywhere near ready for real game action. He had microfracture surgery, there's a good chance he won't be at 100% all year.

If Jasper starts we will be in trouble. I truly believe the only thing Jasper has on anyother point guard is his size. We all know how his shooting goes and his passing is alright, but from what I heard about Legion he better start over him.
