Wow.....Meade isn't getting any respect at all in this thread.......they should get props for playing their butt off and beating a great team....All I hear is excuses on why Owensboro didn't win...........

Clearly, it's an upset ... Owensboro was coming off a 14-3 win at Boone County (a long road trip and a win over a fairly good 4A team) and an off week. Meade had showed little to think they were capable of thumping the Red Devils like they did.

 

I would say the Owensboro people have a pretty good idea that their real team didn't show up last Friday night ... not unlike those at Mayfield.

Meade is a very strong, sound football team. Not at all flashy, which may be why Owensboro is so confused about why they caught that "L" last Friday. They don't look that great on film. They don't have any speed...but they do things right! Meade wins games, and not because they're schedule is soft. Take your "L" boro and learn from it.

Central Hardin, Nelson County and Apollo aren't exactly a Murderers' Row. None of them are the caliber of team of Owensboro. I'll stand by my statement, which wasn't meant the way you probably interpreted it.

You are right, Apollo ,Central, and Nelson aren't having the best of years ,But on any givin night a team will shine. Meade was the better team last Friday. You and I can make excuses all week , But the bottom line is Meade 21 -Oboro 7 . Meade started out this year 0-3, last year we started out 2-5 then won 6 in a role and made it to the state simis . You cannot judge a team only by its record. You do not know our kids heart, our character , or our will to win . When we were 0-3 we told our kids that ;you have got to hate losing more than you love winning;..... We lost to a good FernCreek team by seven points. We had 2 touchdowns called back and over 200 yards in penalties . Bottom line Fern Creek 19 Meade 14 . No excuses.. John Hardin had too much speed .We had 4 turn overs 1 called back and 170 yards in penalties . No excuses... John Hardin 28 Meade 14 .. Greenwood , we beat them in every defensive and offensive stat except for one; Greenwood 28 Meade 21, no excuses... We respect your record , your accomplishments, and your team , I am sure you guys will be fine. But in the same reguard just accept the loss and give our KIDS (thats what they are you know) the credit that they deserve for beating a fine Owensboro team..............No Excuses

Jeb you are right I give Meade all the credit and they played a good game but in one of your earlier posts you said they dominated the game and I was stating that a 7-7 game with 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter is not by any means dominating! Meade made the plays down the stretch to win the game. Good Job Meade Co. But I will say Apollo has lost like 4 in a row and have no QB and Meade won 21-7 and we beat Apollo last year 55-14 and it was never close and that is why I think our boys took it that Meade only beat Apollo 21-7 we should not have any problem. Overlooked. Just like LSU and UK upset Yes! UNEXPECTED? Yes! if LSU and UK played 10 times LSU wins 8 out of 10 but it wasn't this one. Same for Owensboro if they replayed this game 10 times could be the same way. Turnovers don't happen that did before and all other variables but Meade did a good job and I just want to know how you only beat Apollo 21-7? As well as Meade played Owensboro Friday night you should have beaten Apollo by 40+.

MC played well enough to beat Apollo-OHS...If they were in Owensboro...they'ed be the city/Co champs...even if the "favorite" had forced turnovers...give the other kids credit!

I think Owensboro beat us last year 21-3 ,. Last year is last year. You will have to waite and see the score to Apollo - Owensboro later in the season to even get a clue about comparing teams this year. Greenwood beat Meade 28-21 , Meade could have beaten Nelson by 40 . We played our JV almost the intire second half with the clock running. 2 weeks later Nelson beats Greenwood by 35 or 40 . ???? You tell me. Our Defense against Owensboro was physical and I think that our defense dominated the tempo of the game. Games are played between the white lines, not in forums such as ours. You evidently love your team as such you should. You have a big city where there are at least 4 or five powerhouse teams at any given time . We in Meade have 1 team everyone knows everyone . We live and breath high school sports,especially football . We most of the time outnumber the home teams bleachers . People can say what they want about our program, our team , or even County. We will take up for ours as if they were and our kids , neighbors, or kin folk. I believe that we will make some noise again in this years playoffs. Very nice win and we have Hopkinsville this week which is a big district game that we need to win and now with several injuries is going to be a nice challenge as was last week playing on the road and you guys had a very big crowd which is what high school football is about. Buy the way do you guys sell KK donuts after every home game? Nice idea to raise money.

Thanks for the compliment, and yes they do sell them dag gone doughnuts after every game . My boys and I have them eat'n before we get back to the house...::sssh: my wife doesn't know

Well my wife was with me and we are on a little bit of a health kick and she would have killed me if I bought them, and they would have been gone before I got to my vehicle we had to park so far away. Wasn't a bad walk until after the game and we had to walk up that big hill to get out wasn't good on my knee. That really is a good idea too and they also brought pizza over into our bleachers to sell. We are starting to thing like that to raise money for the football program on game nights they even walk the bleachers selling drinks for us lazy people. LOL
