Harrison County 34 Rockcastle County 22

Featured Replies

Final. Nice win for the Breds. I don't understand why they didn't go for 2 when they went up 34-22 with 2 minutes to go. They go for 1 and miss the PAT. Go figure.

Great win for the Breds, especially without their starting QB.

Harrison County had 223 yards rushing against the Rock, a team that was giving up around 70 ypg.

TOTAL YARDS:

Rock: 60-377 yards

HC: 47-352 yards

RUSHING:

Rock: 42-216 yards

HC: 39-223 yards

PASSING:

Rock: 10-18-2 for 161 yards

HC: 5-8 for 129 yards

FIRST DOWNS:

Rock: 16

HC: 13

TOP:

Rock: 27:25

HC: 20:35

PENALTIES:

Rock: 8-63 yards

HC: 90-80 yards

Individuals for Rock:

Hayes: 21-144 yards rushing 2TD's

Mize: 17-54 yards rushing

Kirby: 2 catches for 52 yards

Burkhart: 4 catches for 57 yards

Bullock: 4 catches for 52 yards

Individuals for Harrison County:

Talbott: 12-106 yards rushing 1 TD

Sharp: 13-83 yards rushing

Newby: 6-54 yards rushing

Thomas: 2 catches for 72 yards 1 TD

Ray: 2 catches for 58 yards

Bottom line is that Harrison County is the better team, they are REAL FAST at a lot of their positions, even their backups are real fast, not too mention their kids are real big too. Their O-line and D-Line may be the biggest the Rock has seen in years. Rock played the game perfectly, minus penalties to win the game. A crucial 3rd and 10 with 3:00 minutes to go caused Rock the deciding defeat. Rock was up 22-20 and 1 pass ended that and then the comeback failed. Rock played an extremely good game considering the talent Harrison County had on the field. Rock could never get that big defensive break like Harrison County got. (First series Rock fumbled the all into their hands for a 20 yard fumble return for a TD.) HC fumbled 6 times but they all went back to the Breds. Both teams saw a lot of laundry on the field. A hard hitting game that will definately prepare Rock for the speed of the TITANS and prepare them for a run in the playoffs. sadly, I think Harrison County lost their QB #22 late in the 4th quarter for the year with a shoulder injury, he is one tough, fast, quick athlete. He will be missed.

Did Van Isaacs Play?

NO.

:thumb: Good Stuff 3W. Good Luck the rest of the way to the Rock, hopefully the two schools will continue to play each other on down the road.

I am sure the #1 QB will play this week vs. Franklin County.

May not matter if Talbott is out. W/O Talbott...IMO, they have no shot against Franklin.

Yes, with Talbott out, it will be a battle, but the Breds have a lot of heart and will be ready to play on Friday night. They have went through some tough times this year. They played the #1 team in 4a, at the time, "lex cath" and the defense held them to 14 points. So they will come after you. Harrison County wants to win and they won't let injuries stand in their way, they have went through it all year.

Is Talbott's injury that bad? I have heard varied reports over the seriousness.

Tough game for the Rock and I second everything 3Wishes said. They were fast!
I agree with that but it is ROCK'S open week is week and I think they will practice hard and be ready to go out fighting when they play Mercer Oct 26th.

The enthusiasm is nice.....but don't hang your hat on the performance against LexCath. They are not the Catholic of old. Even with Isaacs back in the lineup.....you're going to see some rust...and some timing issues. He's been out a month. Unfortunately, with Talbott's injury...you lose his elusiveness. While he's definitely an offensive weapon.....he's an absolute stud on the defensive side of the ball. He's had the knack of being in the right place at the right time all year. Losing him at this juncture is huge.

I'm not saying HC can't pull it out. However, they can't play against Franklin like they did against Rock and expect to be victorious.

The Rock game was very entertaining.....but very sloppy...with the penalties and missed assignments.
