Well BC excuse all season long has been the schedule .. now not only has BC lost to a 2A team, they have lost to a 3-4 team.

 

I have not heard Coach Purdue mention any excuses about there Schedule...

Actually I have the utmost respect for coach Perdue, I have met him in person and our coach here at BE thinks the world of him.. I think if given the time he will turn the program around. Unfortunately due to the unrealistic expectations of their fans he probably will not be given the time.

 

My point is BGP and all the BC fans have said all along that BC deserves their top 10 ranking due to their schedule .. when in all actuality they were giving them the ranking based on what they did more than 2 years ago.

 

They have not proven themselves on the field and are not one of the top 10 teams in 4A.

No doubt!!! I'm tired of seeing the northern and eastern Kentucky bias in the BGP poll. 1-6 is 1-6, no matter how you slice it!

 

I am with you on the point...but I am pretty sure that Boyle County is about as Central Kentucky as it gets. Although, after looking at your location I guess everything is northern and eastern KY.

read any BC thread on this board ... they all feel entitled to their ranking due to their schedule ... while the fact that they just are not that good escapes them.

 

 

I love your "has nothing to do with this year" comment after you brought up past championships. Past championships has nothing to do with the fact that Boyle County is 7-12 since Bullitt East knocked them out of the 2005 playoffs.

 

They just do not have the talent. Coach Perdue is a good coach and will turn around the team, but let's not overrank a team who just isn't very good because of 1) their schedule and 2) their past success.

I listened to the game on the radio. The Better team won tonight. Boyle's passing game was inconsistent. Mercer's running game was consistent. Earlier in the year, I (along with many others) felt Boyle was better than their record showed. They may be a tad better, but not by much.

 

Boyle's program has been headed downhill since you know who left. That is a simple fact. No doubt there has been a drop off in talent the past few years. However, other factors are at work related to the team's decline imo. :sssh:

Painting with the broad brush of generalization aren't you? Many fans have used the schedule as an excuse but not all. I've acknowledged that Boyle has played a difficult schedule but I've never said they were any better than their record. BTW, I'm a Boyle fan.

 

It's disappointing to see the Rebels fall this far but I was told from the first of this season that size was something this Boyle team lacked (not to mention speed). So to hear the full wishbone doing damage, I'm not surprised. I hope and have the goal for Boyle to compete for the title every year but I'm realistic when the production on the field doesn't match expectations.

"Don't Do Me Like That" .... good comments ... it really has nothing to due with Coach Perdue. He will turn the program around. Right now he just doesn't have the talent.

 

Unless you coach a private school you have to do with the talent within the community. BC had a nice run of talent with the Tamme family, but it is over. They will eventually turn it around due to the ability of Coach Perdue.
