I'm not sure who can beat Silva in the middleweight division. I'd love to see Dan Henderson fight him...

I got to meet Brock Lessner, to start out my post. I would like to say that Vera blew his big chance and that Silva is the single quickest fighter that I've ever seen. Rich had his A game going, and still you felt it was just a matter of time. Incredible athlete. My firs UFC event, and I had a good time. I thought that it would be a meathead convetion, but everyone that I spoke to after the event was very corteous.

Vera did blow it. He should have won. Although I had him winning a decision 29-28.

Disappointed by the Franklin outcome, but certainly not surprised. I don't see anyone beating Silva. Maybe if Henderson drops down he will.

It was a fun event. Jason McDonald showed up at HeadFirst looking like he had been hit over the face with a baseball bat several times.

I'm not sure what Franklin does next.

Get his nose surgically repaired according to this.

I feel for my boy Rich.... good try. We all still have nothing but love for him in the Cincy/Delhi area.

He could always go back to teaching!

If he gets with a real camp he will be fine................

It's gonna take more than a new camp to beat Anderson Silva.

What do you know...occasionally the favorite does win. I love to watch Anderson Silva fight...he's the most exciting fighter in the UFC right now. He gives you what you pay to see. I thought the fight was over about midway through the first round...it seemed that Franklin came out with a plan and tried to execute it, only to have Silva pretty much brush it off...while Anderson looked calm and confident as always. I love the way he's so patient to start the fight, like he's feeling his opponent out and measuring him up and then when he starts to attack he's just so precise and devastating. I think his strength has been underrated, but I doubt it will be anymore.

Things that stood out to me...

1. Silva is stronger than Franklin...and once that became obvious, you had to know Rich had no chance to win this fight. His only chance going in was to overpower him, IMO, get him down and pound him. No way he can stand and strike with Silva and his submission ground game isn't as good.

2. The Clinch destroyed him again. And part of that is the strength thing, but it seemed like Silva would just wait for Rich to come in and throw some punches so he could grab that clinch...he landed some good knees and I think they really hurt Rich.

3. Silva did look bigger...especially his arms (biceps).

4. Who is going to fight Silva? Franklin is, IMO, the second best fighter in UFC's MW division and he's been completely destroyed twice by the guy. If Dan Henderson doesn't drop down and fight Silva, there is no one I'm currently aware of that can beat Silva. I think he and Henderson would be a great, great matchup...I'd love to see it. I expect to see it happen because it makes too much sense...there is no one else UFC can hype up to fight Silva right now unless they bring someone else in and I can't think of any possibilities (realistic).

I also enjoy seeing the respect these two fighters showed each other and the class with which they conduct themselves. I think Franklin's insistence that Silva not be booed and his compliments after suffering a tough loss shows that he's a real man...and I also have to give Silva credit for the way he has always treated Rich with such respect and the way he handled himself in a very hostile crowd. I can't help but wonder if Franklin might have been better off just fighting in Vegas...although I don't think he beats Anderson Silva anywhere right now.

Maybe, maybe not.

Rich is not GREAT at anything except overpowering people, but he is a well rounded fighter. I have to wonder what would happen if he moved to a camp with other TOP fighters like Couture, BTT, Chute Box..............

Him and Cro Cop both would benefit from a move to a top camp IMHO

Cro Cop really needs to change camps. It's not like Rich has lost to scrubs. He lost to the best MW fighter in the UFC and possibly the best MW fighter in the world. Cro Cop lost to a guy with absolutely NO ground game (Kongo). Cro Cop really looked like he didn't know what to do against Kongo. He looked lost for some reason.

Rich may benefit from working out with Couture. Who hasn't? It sure helped Forrest Griffin.

Benefit? Certainly. Improve enough to beat a guy who has completely destroyed him twice? Very unlikely.

Besides, didn't Rich used to be in the Militech camp with Hughes and Sylvia, or am I mistaken? That should have been a pretty solid training ground.

He worked with them. I don't believe that he was ever "intiated".

CroCop looked like he had no passion against Congo. I know that he's not a rah-rah kind of guy, but I thought that he would look like he wanted to try.
