Douglas #25 is their fourth running back, that just goes to show how good this team really is and how deep they are! And he is just a sophomore. Good game Devils wish I could have been there.

Owensboro has ALWAYS had talent and speed. They are one of the best kept secrets in KY football most years, being this far out west.:sssh:I was honestly suprised with how well Sr. was able to shut down Farris. He is a very good back, but good teams have more than just one player. I would agree with earlier assessments that Boone will have to be able to do more than just run the ball in order to win in the playoffs. Congrats Devils!! Stay focused and keep your eye on the prize!

I agree, and it goes back before Joe Prince. I remember going to a game during Justin Miller's senior season in which he got about 3 carries in the first half. At the time I thought Miller would play on Sundays, maybe Gordon Powers wasn't convenienced yet, but If a kid who is able to earn the title of NFL's fastest man is playing for my team he gets the ball as often as possible.

 

That being said, I'm not sure any coach would have been able to lead them past those two Highlands teams that beat them in the 3A finals back to back.

Great game for the Devils last night and a coming out party for the Douglas kid excellent game. Boone has a solid running game and I thought the devils were in trouble on Boone's first possession when they had a really nice 12 to 15 play drive in which they had one pass play and one run by someone other than Pharris and then all they did the other plays was hand off to Pharris. He is a good back and Owensboro made good adjustments after that and shut him down. I would like to thank all of the Boone Co. fans for all of your compliments on our team and all the hospitality.
