BGP Meet-ups at the Trinity Game (Group Photos!)

Featured Replies

I had an absolute blast tonight at my first ever Trinity football game! It all started with a spaghetti dinner with my family and my best bud, Rockmom, courtesy of the Trinity cross-country team. Then, after RM gave us a brief tour of the grounds and let us pass by numerous THS celebs, we headed over to the game.

There, it was chaos and bedlem meeting up with Peprock, Swamprat & his Mrs., Bert, and of course the occasional fly-by from Guru. ;) Getslow even made an appearance. It was nice to meet you, Getslow!

At half-time, the BGP contingent crossed over into enemy territory to spend some time with Mr. & Mrs. Purplehaze. They were cheerful and fun, as always. I can't go into what happened over there; but suffice it to say that Mrs. PH almost got me into a...umm.."situation". :D

I have a bunch of pics, which I will post...unless the black mail payments arrive on schedule.

Guys & gals, it was fun seeing you all again. Rockmom, thanks a million for being such a great host to my family, and such a priceless friend to me.

It was a pleasure to finally meet you, Birdsfan. Same goes for Swamprat and the missus. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet Mr. and Mrs. PurpleHaze, but trying to navigate a stadium in which I know every third person means I get easily sidetracked. Hopefully I can remedy that another time.

I hope all those attending a game at Trinity for the first time enjoyed themselves and, speaking for everyone involved, we hope you come back again soon.

Can't wait to see the photos, BF! My attendance at the game was a great personal triumph for me, but getting to see you, rockmom, Bert, PepRock, Swampy, guru, and others really made it a special night for Mrs PH and me.

PepRock especially enjoyed my story on how Trinity fans pulled hard for us to beat CovCath in the 1994 3A Championship game. And all seemed to like the glimpse into BGHS Football history with my genuine 1976 gold #57 game jersey.

For 3 1/2 quarters, you couldn't ask for a better football game...and sharing the experience with the BGP Family made it even better! Uh-oh...I feel a twist coming on...!:dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa

Even with the Purples coming up on the short end of a 39-28 game, it was a super might!!:D

This is crap! You all were here and I didn't get to see you!!!

I was working! :irked:

Well, when you work for a Xaverian what do you expect?

What a beautiful campus!! It was a real treat to see everyone again or for the first time! When we get to see our BGP family, it is a big treat.

Our T BGP family left too soon....they did not get to see that they even staff a wheelchair cleaning committee LOL LOL:

There were three little guys (age range from about 5-3 years old) that took some napkins and started cleaning PH's wheelchair. There mom kept telling them to stop and they would go right back to it. She finally asked them why they want to keep rubbing that man's wheelchair with the napkins. The oldest said that they wanted the purple (some parts of PH's chair are purple) to shine. Her eyes got big and she said, no, we don't want the purple to shine!!! LOL LOL

Uh....NOT!

BTW, loved the chair story! That's so cool, and I'm sorry we missed seeing it happen.

Oh, and you're right. Trinity has the most spectacular campus I've ever seen for a high school! And I'm not just talking about the size. It transitions from modern to old facilities, and both are maintained to perfection. The rotunda of trophies, outside the cafeteria was worth the trip in itself!

It's amazing what they've been able to do with the amount of space that they have. What kept going through my mind was the trips we took years ago to visit my brother at EKU. Trinity had that same kind of feel to me -- just a beautiful place.

The adults and students were both super-friendly to us. We were greeted warmly by the cross-country guys at the spaghetti dinner, and everyone went out of their way to be helpful. I think we had three different peoople help us carry food and drinks to our table!

Okay, enough bragging on the Rocks! But I can't wait to go back. I'll get some pics posted soon; but I'll wait a few days in case someone would rather not have their pic on here. ;)

Maybe we could have people to guess who is who....there are some that will be obvious and others that will not!!!!

How about we start with the group shot?

As soon as everyone (in the pic) gives the okay, I'll post it.

Go ahead Birdsfan, I want to see some pics and I am getting sleepy.

I can't.

I want to be fair to everybody. I doubt that any of them will care; but I want to be sure.
