269 yards passing, two touchdowns and 23-of-32

If he was 6/9 he must not have had too many uncatchable balls. I know for a fact that he had one pass that hit his receiver right on the numbers, and it fell incomplete. That is a 67% completion rate, what % is acceptable? He did not have 3 or 4 costly turnovers tonight. If he did, please remind me of them.

 

Please explain why he should take the blame for this loss. It was a team loss. If one wanted to point out the plays that factored into the loss, I can guarantee you that Adrian was not involved in them. I cannot speak for the discipline of the coach, you'll have to ask the coaches.

The interception was catchable ... lighten up on Wardrup. Sounds like a disgruntled parent to me.

 

 

Well let's see, I graduated from NL 5 years ago and my daughter has yet to put on her first pair of cleats. I'm not a disgruntled parent just a fan who wants my team to win, or at least not beat themselves which they have done 2 weeks in a row.

I wouldn't go there. An easy search on your post history shows that over 50% of them are negative regarding Adrian. Pretty obvious who's not being objective. I have no kid playing, and I've been following NL football since the school's inception, can you say the same?

What? ... I said it's not one play here or there, it was a team loss ... that's pretty simple to read. I, along with Boucher, have been following North football since its inception. If you think the past two weeks are hard times, then you are fooled. Try the times like 1999 and 2000. These are games to learn from. THESE AREN'T DISTRICT GAMES ... you learn from these type of games and you can't win them all.

Wardrup needs to be involved in the offense alot more, he is probably the most athletic player on the field for North and he needs to be doing something besides handing the football off for most of the game.

Hey fellows, come on now. I respect all of your opinions entered on this site. I really enjoy hearing your perspectives, both pre and post-game. All of you discussing this present topic want the same thing in-the-end; North Laurel victories each and every time they take the field, no matter who the opponent. I will also give y'all something else - you guys do feel for this team, and feel deeply. Let's stay united behind these Jags and love and support them and the Ws will come soon. There are so many positives for North which came in the game last night - not the least of these was Time-of-Possession. They did a fine job keeping the score close and low for most of the game. Let's remember, South played a terrific game (D & O) and they had no mercy to give, whether flagged or not.No one play, or player, does a teamn, unless the team looses heart; these boys did not and played hard right up until the end.

Congrat's fellows for all the support and deep-felt advise offered on this site. Let's all continue to support and advance those Jags; and this is one fan that will continue to read and enjoy, and learn, from your comments.

Good win for South in this cross town rivalry. It sounds like Bowling had a big night. Both teams can use this game to get ready for district play.

Downsouth should look at the whole team instead of focusing his blame on one sophomore who he has been riding for 2 weeks. Get off the kid. Like Les said, it was a team loss. The personal foul penalty which extended the South drive, the penalty that killed a North drive, a pass goes thru the hands of the receiver at the goal and is intercepted, a fumbled kickoff return, another dropped pass for an easy first down, an early interception into double coverage, Brandenburg gets hurt early in the 3rd when the score was tied 7-7, etc. Those were the things that did North in and they were made by several members of the TEAM, not just one player. The defense really played pretty well for the Jags. North's offense would start drives, pick up big first downs, then bog down with some predictable playcalling. I swear I would spread the offense out every once in a while, put Wardup in shotgun, and let him read and make plays. Not every down, but every so often to keep the defense off balance.

 

As for South, ... Ricky Bowling played excellent on both sides of the ball. He made a TD saving tackle when Wardrup was headed down the sidelines, had the key INT at the goal line and his offensive performance speaks for itself. I thought that King made some nice plays at the WR spot and several kids came up with big plays on defense, which was much improved from last week. Granted, they weren't playing a team with as much speed as Valley had, but they crowded the box and forcing NL to play a game they weren't comfortable in playing. Merida really runs hard as does Quinn. Their running game is improved over last season IMHO, which will really help Bowling out.

 

For North, the positive thing to take away is that they were moving the ball several times and just stalled. The defense held South to 20 points, the same team that scored 57 just last week. If the Jags can ever find their identity on offense, they can be a good team.

I was very disappointed with the performance of North, especially the O-line they did not get much movement all night on the South. Bowling played great but is going to need some help from the running game soon. Overall though good effort by the Cards!!

Does anyone know Setters' and Tyree's stats?? They got the ball a good amount this game. Tyree showed he has some good hands, that last play on the INT would have been a touch down Tyree just didn't break soon enough and the throw was just a tad bit high and the play by bowling was awesome.
