You need to read what prompted the response from me. I only said that Jones did not knock Selby on his butt-ONE on ONE, like the post said. I spoke the truth- Saw the play got pics of the play, and also happen to have one of Jones on Selby's back trying to tackle him before Selby carried him out of bounds. Not trying to argue, but facts are facts. These two line up one on one and Jones hits Selby head to head.......Selby wins 9 out of 10 times. IMO- Jones is an awesome athelete from both sides of the ball. Not taking anything away from him. Just proving a point on a post from a Russell fan not speaking the facts.

I'm not sure if snakebite is a Russell fan or a BC fan or just a casual observer. Facts differ from one persons perspective to another. Jones knocked Selby down. Fact. Selby carried jones Fact. Russell won the game Fact. and the last one is the only one that matters.

Again not trying to argue the point but it is now mere speculation and opinion. As the school yard kids argue "my dad could beat up your dad" in this instance we will never know. On paper Selby should run right through Jones but unless we have them go head to head it is a moot point.

Okay I came in late but I just want to throw my three cents in.. Selby is a beast. Boyd needs to find a way to get him the ball more. Short passes in the flats or from the full back position. Jones is going to hurt someone out there before the season is over. Ask the Boyd QB who got hit numerous times by Jones. Jones is one of those players who love to hit. Speaking of the Boyd QB. Outstanding player who kept his cool trying to win the game for his team and almost did. One or two plays go the other way and Boyd wins.

thanks for the stats fball, especially the defensive ones. Never get to see those in the paper.

As I said before....Jones knocked Selby down......"with a Russell defender wrapped around his legs." I know its tough sometimes, but lets tell the entire story. Not enough to make something out of nothing. Not arguing with anyone, just saying "state the facts"- Jones is a great athelte-fact. Selby is a beast- Fact. Russell was suppossed to win "BIG"-Fact.

By the Way....How about Boyd County's new sound system? Did all the Boyd County and Russell fans think it sounded great?

System sounded great, now work on getting a better guy on the mic...:creepy: ...he was awful.

I HATE PA announcers that cheerlead from the pressbox. But even if you take away that annoying aspect, he's still bad.

Wrong calls all night...repeatedly giving wrong penalties and whether they were declined or not, wrong names and numbers (maybe a bad spotter on some of those); in any event, the guy needs to know more about the game...

Big or not it is a win.

Actually I was not trying to argue about it. I was just stating the facts. Selby is very impressive.

I thought Boyd Co would be very good this year. The first game loss really surprised me. But if they can hold on along the line of scrimmage and take care of the football they have some playmakers.

Now that is a totally different subject there....:thumb: :thumb: :D

Saw the play you are talking about. Selby was hung up with another Russell defender around the legs, and turned into Jones. Jones hit Selby and knocked him backwards over the other Russell defender. I was 50 feet from the play, saw it all. There is no way Jones is going to "Knock him on his butt" straight up. EXAMPLE#1- I was standing right next to the sideline when Selby caught the short pass from Wilson and ran over two Russell players, before carrying Jones on his back for 7 yards and going out of bounds.....Straight up one on one....Selby wins everytime.
:fight: Selby is one bad butt runner over if you ask me.You dont get in this guys way or he will run you over.:thumb:

Care to tell us why you thought BC would be "very good" this year FBall? They did lose several key players.

Because Crisp, Barker and Wilson are all VERY good football players returning in the backfield. Then you add Selby. If they can get some young kids to perform well enough on the line of scrimmage they will be tough. I thought they could but they did struggle to start the season. As the year goes by I think you will see this team improve alot.

Care to tell us why you thought they wouldn't be onetoya?

After talking with a couple of my Russell buddies, they both said that the game was Boyd's and there was some questionable decisions that cost us. Hate to hear that, but that was their story...One was going for two after second TD...wasnt a game breaker, but changed a little momentum. They also stated trying to run the ball in at the in of half with 10 sec to go was a breaker too, when we could have tried to pass once or even kick a fg. I believe the Staff at Boyd is top notch...just giving you other opinions..I wasnt there.
