I'd be pretty upset with Schilling if I were you too. After all, he did greatly contribute to the biggest collapse in baseball history while pitching on 1 1/2 legs! :lol: :lol: :lol:

I know he plays for Boston but seriously - if you really like the guy then I would think that you are one of a very few. Maybe not but my dislike for him has nothing to do with the team that he plays on, doesn't help matters though :sssh: :lol: .

It wouldn't upset me if he kept his mouth shut a little bit more. However, he's old school in the way he plays and respects the game--that I do like about him. Him pitching the way he did in that game with his tendon sutured together in his ankle--it was bad enough that the damage done basically sunk his 2005 season--won't soon be forgotten by Red Sox fans. He's also a really big advocate of The Jimmy Fund and helps his wife with her skin cancer charity. He does a lot of good things on and off the field, he just needs to stay off the internet and radio a little bit more.

I can agree with you on the subject of his work off the field, especially the Jimmy V fund. I admire that out of anyone. Schilling just lets his mouth overload his. ......well, you know............ most of the time.

I'm actually talking about The Jimmy Fund--the Red Sox have been supporters of it for a long time. It raises money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Cancer Institute and focuses on curing cancer in children. The statue of Ted Williams putting his cap on the little boy's head behind Fenway is there in honor of The Jimmy Fund. They had a telethon during the games the last couple of nights and raised over $3 million for the cause. Schilling came on during the 2nd game and talked about it. Its really a good cause, now if he would just stick to talking about stuff like that and throwing the ball he'd be fine. Here's a link to a story about the telethon, really nice article.

Did you read the article? A very worthy cause for any of us to champion. I've donated for the last 15 years--hopefully we're doing some good. Schilling does a lot of work for the Jimmy Fund as well as a skin cancer group for that his wife runs--he can run his mouth but he does a lot of good too,
