Highlands/Beechwood Scrimmage

I will agree w/this but not every play as was displayed.

There is encouraging your team mates and there is taunting your opponent.

If he is taunting, wouldn't the officials throw a sportsman ship flag. If he is playing upbeat and vocal and encouraging his team mates, then I would like to have 10 more like him.

Exactly right, however, he was warned several time about toning things down. Hey, don't get me wrong. It is great to get excited, this is a game and that is why I enjoy what the crazy pro's do. I think they should be able to do whatever they want when they get into that end zone, just don't get into the opponents face w/all the crap.

Thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't there. And if he is in the opponents face and taunting, Dale might get tired of the penalties and tone him down.

I say if he is hootin and hollering and flying around making plays leave him alone and just enjoy watching him get the other guys fired up. If he is talking trash I say that is not going to help his cause getting to the next level. I am sure Dale has control of this situation and Luke seems like a fine young man from what I have seen so I am sure he will get this under control. Its not like he is a punk, he works with the younger kids in the Football youth camps and they all love him.

It wasn't every play. Let's not get carried away. And I watched Stein almost exclusively when he was in there (particularly when he was on offense). Stein is a very emotional player, particularly on defense. Frankly, I didn't have any problem with his emotional play (or taunting if that's what you want to call it) knowing that it was the first opportunity to hit someone not on your team. I also think that some of it was in response to some things going on between the players. This scrimmage always has had an edge to it. The Tigers come into it trying to prove that Highlands isn't all that its touted to be and that the Tigers don't get enough respect from the "other" cakeeaters in N. Ky. The Highlands players aren't going to back down. There has always been a lot of mouthing and questionable hits in these scrimmages. Friday was just more of the same. And fans who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. It wasn't a Highlands player that was sent to the sidelines by the refs due to some "questionable behavior" on the field. If you want the details and the player's name and number, just pm me.
