I think we have all been one of the three at one time or another. It's difficult in this day and age to not be a little bit bitter towards something. What makes life truly worth living is having those close to you, family and friends, to help you through those ups and downs.

I took it more to mean that the carrot gets beaten down by trials, while the egg grows cold and hard. Only the coffee makes itself better when it goes through hard times.
