August 2, 200719 yr If true, then I say UL does more with less than any school I know! You could look at it that way, or it could also be that UofL has had a better collection of talent around the QB position. I haven't followed either program close enough to know either way.

Can I win a DVD Copy of one of my favorite movies...Scarface? :lol: Brohm and Couch are IMO a virtual tie as far as college QBs go. I do think Brohm will have a much more successful and productive pro career though.
August 2, 200719 yr Brohm needs to put up 30 TDs this year. He's had the benefit of a lot better talent than Redman. Until this year it was a lot different systems, AND U of L has upgraded their opposition greatly in Brian's two years at the healm.

Woodson has more skills, or attributes, if you will than Stefan...but Stefan rarely ever struggled because of how cerebral he was and his true leadership, be it vocal or non. As far as Brian being better than Tim, I have to say yes. Tim Couch IS a great talent that transcended the position for the future of QB's in KY. Brian did all of that as well, he also seems to throw a more PURE ball in motion etc. Also, on pure record of games played it is clearly obvious that Brian makes much better care of the ball than Tim did. They were very close in high school, same with college, we'll see about Pro.
August 2, 200719 yr How anyone could put Bonner (one year) and Boyd above Lorenzen is beyond me. Jared had a better college career, statistically, than Eli Manning and about 99.7% of the QB's to ever play in that conference. He is also entering his 3rd year getting an NFL pay-check. Shane Boyd won't sniff a roster in mid-September, IMHO. Bonner had a great year, and it may well have ended in a bowl victory had Whalen not snapped his arm / elbow, but IMHO he wasn't nearly as gifted as Jared at the QB spot (and certainly, for reasons outside of his control, didn't have a fraction of the career Jared had). At UK, as of today, I'd go like this: Couch Jared Woodson Bonner Boyd I'm sure Woodson will end up above Jared, but after one good year, IMHO, he isn't there yet. I agree with your comments. I am a little bit iffy on Andre moving ahead of Jared for sure. Andre needs and hopefully will have a great year.

It is unfortunate that Tim has had a lackluster, injury plagued NFL career. Don't let that tarnish his accomplishments in college. Brohm has another season to go. I'll make my decision on this topic after this college season is over.

I think this is why I was surprised to see you comment earlier that you thought Brohn and Redman were about a push. Brohm wins hands down in my opinion because of the cerebral element. He has been very well coached. Also, I would guess Brian Brohm might have a much brighter NFL career than Tim Couch due to: 1. Better prepared (Coaching) 2. Better health......although Brohm's knee braces are not a great endorsement for going injury free the remainder of his career. Time will tell.

August 3, 200719 yr I will have to say depending on this year Brohm is the best of the bunch, unless Woodson pulls off a couple of major upsets. While I admired Lefors for his abilities I just do not think he's better than Woodson. If Lefors had to play against SEC compettition on a regulat basis I don't think he would've had as near the stats he had.

HOWEVER, I believe there's more to the game than the physical aspects, and a someone mentioned earlier, I believe Stefan has the 2nd best intangibles of the group mentioned. I believe that he would have been able to be successful against SEC competition, and I feel that his game against Miami is indicative of his true level of ability. There will be skeptics because of UL being C-USA during his playing time, which is a shame, considering the what I believe to be the true level of his abilities.
