Last time I saw Crawford he was turning into a monster. He is around 230-235 and solid as a rock. Think Azubuike in a sense. Man he would have made a good tight end but he looks to have a bright future on the hardwood.

I talked to Josh the other day he said things were going great and he feels like he will be better than ever physically once the Season rolls around. Josh is 6'5 and exactly 215 pounds. Straight from the Horse's mouth...lol

 

Tight end is a glorified guard in some systems and Josh likes to get his hands on the ball ......lol. Coach P makes sure he gets some touches.

 

Besides the Hounds are loaded with talented pass catchers and blockers. He is a beast though and has worked hard to improve his body in the off season.

Has anyone seen Madison Johnson play this summer.

They have played Cumberland every year for about the last 10 years late in the season alternating home court each year just as they have with Harlan, but from what I heard Coach P decided to pass on the game this year that was supposed to be at Cumberland.

Maybe Coach Edwards did not want to play since he stated in the paper that it was not worth the trip for Cumberland to come to Corbin since they could not win there. I heard a date could not be worked out due to both teams commitments. Let's hope they play in the post season to end all the debate. With Cumberland not having a school next season I would think most of their contracts would have to be one year deals. Maybe Coach P did not want to make the trip and then not get a return game next year at home. Just some food for thought.

Corbin doesn't dodge people in basketball. They generally will play all comers.

The last couple years Corbin's schedule has been very typical of other 13th region teams. Other than South Laurel they haven't played any of the state's powers. I don't think you would include Adair Co or Shelby Valley as state powers. Its not been a bad schedule, just nothing real special. It would be nice to see them schedule a hand full of games against teams like Madison Central, Henry Clay, Bryan Station, etc.

Maybe they will in the future now that they can compete with those teams. Hounds do not claim to be Scott County.

Nor should they. However, its my personal belief that with Johnson and Crawford Corbin has the potential to be a state power again. Its also my opinion that to be a state power you need to have a few state powers sprinkled through your schedule. Maybe they will this year, who knows.

What does Corbin need to do to improve in 2007/2008? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

 

Corbin will be one of the 3 teams to beat in the 13th. CHS needs its young players to step up and make the older players work hard in practice. This will translate to some varsity time for the young players who can do that. CHS has a couple of 6'7" kids that needs to get stronger and work on defensive skills so that they can help the team later in the year...especially at tournament time. No worries...the coaches will take care of this. The young guards need to work on ball handling skills and getting off their shots while being defended so that they will be ready to step up when the oppurtunity arrises. The 2-4 spots need to get stronger and work on ball handling and shooting. Looks like a fun year upcoming. Hopefully the young guys will work hard in freshman and jv games in order to prepare themselves for some potential varsity minutes. This is where the varsity minutes are earned.

What schools have committed to play this year's C.F.I.T.?

I am not for sure. I have been told that they are one team short.
