I finished it at about 3:00 AM this morning after starting at about 11:00 AM Saturday. I tried a few times to put it down but kept wondering what happened next so I just decided to go for a marathon reading session. One thing that I have really enjoyed about the books is that they seemed to have matured as The 3 main characters have. The first book was clearly written at a level for older children and teenagers, but as the characters have grown up so has the feel of the books.

 

I thought it was outstanding and that Rowling did an outstanding job of tying up loose ends.

The review in the Lexington Herald-Leader said it was a "classic" for the ages. I've read the first four books, but haven't read the others. I need to catch up with books 5 and 6 before tackling this one.

I never would have guessed that Harry's great-grandfather was from Missouri and served in the Army, most notably as a surgeon in the Korean War. His name was Sherman.

I have read 330 of the pages, and so far it is a very interesting and great book. :thumb:

No way, I could handle Lord of The Rings, loved em, but Harry Potter is just too far fetched for me. It's just I dunno, so "little kid" minded. I know alot of people like them but I just can't stomach it.

If you haven't read then then how can you call them lame?

Finished this morning and if you read the thread on BGP giving their thoughts on how the series would finish, you would have a pretty good idea how it finished.

 

No real surprises in this book. Pretty much finished up as I thought it would.

 

Still good read and good book.

Correction. It was not JK's son but, rather , the actor who played one of the kids in the movie (didn't see it - didn't read the book so I can't tell you which character).
