Run To State
Sex crimes committed by women. Does this seem right to any of you? Why, considering it's the same crime, do women receive just a hand slap often compared to what a man receives? Either it's a crime or it isn't. There should be no difference in the punishment. What say you?
Hearsay
We never have valued punishment of sex with boys as much as punishment for sex with girls. For one, the age element of negation of consent is pretty illusory. The fact of the matter is that most of the boys engaged in these zesty enterprises with gusto, the girls in these situations are often times much more confused. The other element to this is the spectre of pregnancy with girls that doesn't exist with boys. Its a double standard, both so are hundreds of other things in the legal system. MsKitty
I was a bit surprised by the vast discrepancies in the consequences from case to case. Some women sentenced to 10 years in prison and others getting probation for essentially the same crime. I suppose that has a lot to do with the state the crimes took place. Some I'm sure can't wait to high five their friends, but others I'm sure are embarrassed. I'd have to say the same goes for girls. Not every girl is innocent/not willing as you are making it out. I think it's a flaw in the legal system.

covcathftball
This is definately a hot topic locally right now with the Jeni Dinkel case and I'm surprised it hasnt been debated more on here. Anyway, IMO it is obviously a double standard but a fair double standard in most cases. I used to think that all sex offenders, male and female, should be treated the same, however my opinion has recently changed. I now agree with the point that Hearsay made how female victims are often coerced into particpating in sex acts while male victims are quite often more than willing to participate if not the instigator of the sex acts. Why are girls not willing and not the instigator????? I have trouble believing a 14 year old boy can "coerce" a middle age woman into sex acts. I didnt say that middle age women are coerced by underage males I said that underage males often instigate the relationship and are more than willing to participate. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that makes it okay for the adult female just that her punishment shouldn't be the same as an adult male who more or less forces the younger girl to participate in sexual activity. I understand that this isnt true 100% of the time, there are instances where an underage girl is willing, but it is true a lot of the time. Because a young girl is often times more of a victim than a young boy is. That is my whole point.
