July 19, 200719 yr If she is most like teenage girls, my guess is that her response will be to roll her eyes, declare loudly that you are the most unfair father in the world, run upstairs, slam the door, text all her friends telling them what a horrible person you are and then plot about how she is going to put you in a really bad nursing home. How old is she now? If she is under the age of 12, ENJOY THE GLORY YEARS! Actually, it is not all that bad, but there are moments....... She is currently 10, and yes I appreciate the fact that I have a few years before the dreaded "teen" years set in. We are in the "daddy's girl" stage and I truly cherish every day of it.

July 19, 200719 yr I agree. If a 20 something year old woman has sex with my 14-17 year old son, there is going to be some serious discussions had. If a 20 something year old man has sex with my 14-17 year old daughter, I am going to prison. In my mind, it is a legitimate double standard. Same with you there, except in the black. I will be going to a maximum security prison and on death row.

Yes both circumstances are a crime, but why can't the punishment for each crime be different. It is clear that the majority of people agree that sex with an underage male and sex with an underage female are generally not equal crimes, so why shouldn't they have different punishments. Not all people who commit murder get the same sentence even though it is the same crime.
