OK this might sound amazing but I have never been to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. Going to make my first trip in October. Looking at cabins and wanted everyone's advice on what to look for and what I might expect to pay. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have kids, take them to the NASCAR Cafe. Food's ok, not bad, but a lot of better choices in town. The Cafe is cool because the dining area is surrounded by actual cars, and every now and then, the sound system sounds like the cars have started up and the wheels are moving. Their is also a great play area. Kids love the place.

Got back a couple days ago, it was a fun time.

 

While we were doing the Laurel Falls trail, we ran smack into a black bear with her two cubs. They were literally about 10 feet away from us. They crossed the path and even stopped to get their pictures taken. It was kinda scary, but awesome at the same time.

The Smokey Mountain Brewery is the best place I have ever eaten in my life! I am making the trip down to Gatlinburg for the week here in about 2 weeks myself!

I'm leaving for Gatlinburg on Wednesday morning and staying until Sunday next week. What are the attractions that I need to do while there? I know all of the Ripley's museums and we are going to DollyWood 1 of the days we are there. Any ideas???

Aquarium is very good.

 

We took a walk to the top of Clingman's dome. Great view up there.

 

We also took a mile hike to a Laural falls which was nice.

 

Dixie Stampede was great for my little girl. she loved it.

I went once before but we just spent 2 nights there and came back. We just went out to eat and I happened to discover the Smoky Mtn Brewery! It was when iw as in college and we had a formal there for my fraternity. I was jealous because we didn't have time to really do anything!

Aquarium is very good.

Clingman's dome is nice, but not recommended for those afraid of heights.

 

Cades Cove is pretty nice, and you have a good shot of seeing some wildlife.

Conner's is a good eat if you like home cooked meals. Fried apples, cheese grits and the best desserts.

I don't like heights but it did not bother me.

 

 

Cades Cove is a nice drive. My little girl told me after about 15 minutes, "I am tired of seeing deer is there any other animals".

 

We see deer here all the time especially if you drive in the LBL.

You should've asked for places not to eat lol.

 

I love Gatlinburg

The only thing wrong with this is that they have closed there doors. Last week it was empty with weeds growing in the parking lot, but it was a great place to eat.
