This is what we're fighting. Hamas ended this t.v. show featuring a Mickey Mouse-like character supossedly being killed by Israeli interrogators as 3 and 4-year-olds watch. How do you deal with this kind of mindset?

True. But other evils, such as prejudice, hatred and racism, are many times already taught/learned by that age in our own country. Luckily, we don't have a TV show for it...yet. Mostly they just learn it by example.

You are comparing apples to car bombs here. In our country, prejudice and racism manifests itself in FAR less violent fashions than in the ME. I realize this isn't always true and of course our country has seen its share of race related violence in the past. Today, in the U.S., prejudice and racism manifests itself with limited job opportunities, name calling, mistrust, and yes occasionally violence. In the ME, it manifests itself in the form of brutal violence with regularity.

Whoa folks, do you understand the point of the video? We're talking about a t.v. show for little kids, please give me an example where we have t.v. shows for kids that teach hatred for it's fellow man.

Wow, you completely missed the point. I was referring to the "violent nature" of the problems in the ME vs. the U.S. Obviously all forms of racism/bigotry/intolerance are vile.

 

 

If one wants to see real bigotry/hatred/intolerence just check out Rwanda, the Darfur region of Africa/Sudan, and basically every country in the region referred to as "The Middle East".

 

We should consider ourselves lucky to have the peaceful bigotry/intolerence that we experience for the most part in the U.S. (I'm semi-joking here, but only semi).

2. It is terrible to teach children to hate people or groups of people.

Racial hatred and killings happen in the US. The killings are not as frequent as the car bombings that we are now seeing in Iraq (though they were in our not so ancient past), since we are there, but to say that it is comparing "apples to car bombs" might be a slap in the face to families in our own country that have lost a loved one in a racially motivated killing.

 

Do we not consider the hatred that some Middle Easterners have for Americans a type of prejudice? How are the two so different?

I'm not sure which doctrination for children is more harmful to us.

 

The Middle Eastern one that proclaims "Kill the Great Satan"

or

the American one that proclaims "Everything is beautiful, in its own way..."
