Are you asking us to choose between those, or are they your personal picks?

That's a very tough question.

Right at this moment I'd say that my personal favorite song (if it's possible for me to have one) is Nada by The Refreshments, but considering that most people don't even KNOW that song, I don't know if it can fall into that category.

Some classics I'd put into the running:

Pink Floydd - Comfortably Numb

Led Zeppellin - Over The Hills and Far Away, Stairway to Heaven (I can't pick between the two myself)

Steppenwolf - Magic Carpet Ride

CCR - Fortunate Son

Johnny Cash - Ring of Fire

Ben E. King - Stand By Me

Some more (slightly) modern hits that I would throw into the running (that I'm sure some will harshly critique):

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Soul to Squeeze

REM - Losing My Religion

U2 - With or Without You

Foo Fighters - Everlong

Nine Inch Nails - Hurt

Pearl Jam - Black

I should stop myself before I get out of hand.

Imagine is a great choice. But to narrow it down to just one is next to impossible. So, in keeping with the other posts, let me throw out my nominees by genre.

If I had to pick ONE song that was going to be starting every time I turned on the radio for the rest of my life, I would choose from this list:

Linger, the Cranberries

Still Remains, STP

Alive, Pearl Jam

Dream On, Aerosmith

Shadows of the Night, Pat Benetar.

I don't think I'd ever get tired of any of these songs.

Others, starting with music from the 90's to now.

Creep, Radiohead

Iris, Goo Goo Dolls

Far Behind, Candlebox

Cumbersome, Seven Mary Three

Picture, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow

Losing My Religion, REM

From the 80's:

Drive, the Cars

Don't You Forget About Me, Simple Minds

Living On A Prayer, Bon Jovi

Love Bites, Def Leppard

Dancing in the Dark, Bruce Springsteen

(I could go on and on here)

From the 70's:

Born To Run, Bruce Springsteen

And the rest of my list would include Neil Diamond and Elton John stuff. Along with a lot of the stuff from Saturday Night Fever and Grease.

My wildcard pick: Sweet Caroline, Neil Diamond

If I had to pick just one?

Dylan- Hurricane...

Great Song. Did you know that's not the original version? That one got scrapped as a few lines being too confrontational, and the entire song was redone. It's a lot different musically from the original, faster and with the Rolling Thunder Revue musicians working on it.

Nice. One of my personal favs, I just couldn't find room for it in my list of all time greatests. Great, great song though, love Radiohead.

Lucky is not bad either.

Although I'm only a moderate Radiohead fan, Creep has it all. Great lyrics, great riff, and great tone. :thumb:

Me do the research on something I consider my favorite ever? No...

That song, in the original and Dylan version, was a huge deal in that era as it all played out. It was a story that drew me in at an early age and has been one I make sure I listen to more often than any other...
