Atlanta Braves upset with ESPN.

I could see why they're upset.

ATLANTA (AP) -- The Atlanta Braves were peeved to learn that another Sunday game was switched to an evening start.

Their July 22 game against the St. Louis Cardinals has been changed to 8:05 p.m. instead of the usual 1:05 start to accommodate an ESPN national telecast. It was the third time a Braves game has been moved this season.

It will be Atlanta's fourth appearance on the cable network in a seven-week period, but this is one time the Braves wound prefer to be the Not Ready For Prime Time Players. They will head out right after the game for a West Coast road trip, which starts the following night in San Francisco.

"Somebody's just not using their heads," manager Bobby Cox said before Tuesday night's game against the Washington Nationals. "Why don't they just look at the schedule once in a while and say, 'You know, there's just as good a game somewhere else?"'

ESPN shouldn't have the right to do it. They were scheduled to play at 1:05 and it should be the Braves and Giants decision to move the game to another time not ESPN's. ESPN has nothing to do with baseball and the way it's ran and it should stay that way.

Homeless Camel is right. When you pay the kind of money that ESPN pays then they can pick and chose what teams they want to show.

^ Even if it interferes with an upcoming schedule. And it's not because their showing the braves it's because they were supposed to play Cards at 1:05 but now it's moved to 8:05. And the Braves then have to travel To Cali and play the Giants the following night. It still doesn't ive them the right to tinker with teams schedules.

TV games are all about ratings, advertisement and viewers....They hold the gavel and decide when/where/who/why.

It still doesn't ive them the right to tinker with teams schedules.
It happens all the time in Pro Sports and even College Basketball and Football, adjust starting times and even dates.

Hey....America's Team, needs to play when America watches.

   I knew that there was a reason that I didn't watch espn as much. :D . Probably the real reason they were upset is that they didn't want a national audience get to watch them lose again :thumb: .

Alright, let's do the time math....

8:05pm start....

11:20pm game ends....

1:15am flight to San Fran....

11:45pm, arrive in San Fran....(time change)

2:00am, Hotel check-in, toss bags down and sleep

8:00am, breakfast (if you want)

12:30pm Lunch (if you want)

4:30pm arrive at field....

8:05pm game time....

Other than getting to Hotel late, still considerable time to relax and rest, from previous game and prepare, for upcoming game.

Nice job with the time situation, not to mention, how much money are these guys getting paid again? Even the scrubs are getting more money than many of us will see in a lifetime.

A six month season and you want to complain about being sore or a little bit tired?? Just keep crying, do you think if they were 20 games over 500, they would be complaining?

So just because you make a lot of money you're not aloud to want an ample amount of time to rest and let your body rest? They play 20 straight games sometimes without a day off and players body's get sore after a while so why shouldn't the manager look out for them and their health and complain? And it doesn't matter whether the team is 20 games over or 20 games under your body is still sore either way because you play the game and sometimes your body takes a beating.
