You could pretty much take about 40 bands out of the top 50 best selling CDS each month on the charts and I would LOATHE a majority of them.

 

Same here. It's probably 50/50 with rare exceptions. And I agree wholeheartedly with Jim's last comment.

 

Dave Mathews sucks. I don't understand the obsession with him or crummy "indie" bands that sound just like him. I like to call them "Dave Mathew's Band's cover band's cover band."

 

I'm not that big of a fan of the Doors. I like some of their songs and some of their lyrics are alright, but I just don't get into them.

 

Can't stand Linkin Park.

 

Rascall Flatts is 'nails on chalkboard' to me. I feel like they should be paying me for having to listen to their garbage. Not a band I hate more.

How many of their songs have you actually listened to? I can see how you don't like them but I don't believe you can say they suck. If you're basing this off of the new stuff I understand but not if you're talking about their complete collection.

They don't "suck," in the classical sense. They are all very talented. I really like their drummer, Carter (I think). But I have in fact heard a lot of their stuff. Some of my friends are HUGE fans and take absurd road trips to see the same concert over, and over, and over. I guess my real complaint is that they have this ridiculous following, are wildly popular and have these notoriously loyal fans, and I just don't see it.

I get what you're saying but you can't fault the band for their fans. If I did that then I probably wouldn't like Tool. Personally, I think Carter is EASILY in the top 5 best drummers of all time. The things he does live are unbelievable as are the drum sets he plays.

I agree. I just think they are over-hyped. I have trouble getting passed Dave's voice as well. Just not my cup of tea for some reason, but I can certainly appreciate them.

Other than The Allman Brothers and The Marshall Tucker Band, I never cared much for "southern rock bands". I guess Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Foghat, etc. fall into that category.

 

Don't care much for bands with vocalists who sound like they're passing kidney stones. Nickelback, Hinder, etc. come to mind.

I've never been a big Metallica guy. They don't bother me too much but I wouldn't ever buy any of their CD's. Although I do have S&M, I really enjoyed it when they played with the San Fransisco Symphony.

His voice is definitely an acquired taste if you will, especially live because he's drunk half of the time but then that's where the amazing shows come in. Try listening to the song "Bartender"(not to be confused with "The Bartender Song") sometime all the way through, the vocals are beautiful at the end of the track.

There were hardly any acts bigger in the mid to late 70s and early 80s than Fleetwood Mac. They're on my list.

 

Put Phil Collins and his drum on there as well.
