Vince and Ted Turner were doing some outlandish stuff to win the ratings wars...

June 26, 200719 yr Now does anyone have a different opinion about this??? I didn't comment before, but I really don't have a different opinion. McMahon came out and explained the situation of the character "Mr. McMachon" and his proclaimed "demise," not death. Although it was obvious that this "demise" included his staged death, the meaning, in my opinion, was to show a downward spiral of McMahon, only to have it once again regain its power. I think it was respectful for McMahon to come out and explain to the world listening that his plot of his demise was what I said, a plot, and that the WWE is meant for entertainment only - hence the name.

It's a TV show....like someone said above, next time someone dies in a movie or a TV show and the flags are lowered or a flag is draped over a casket, are you going to be offended too? :rolleyes: :rolleyes: The thing that amazes me is that you are trying to justify something like that. It is your miniscule point that it was the WWE flag only. What exactly makes your opinion more acceptable than anyone elses? :rolleyes:

Do you get offended when someone dies in movies or on 24, or Law And Order?

In a television show such as 24 or law and order they do not go to the actual police precinct that it is filmed in and fly the flags at half staff. 24 and Law and Order are TV shows that do not transfer into the public eye like the WWE. McMahon has went to far with this little stunt IMO.

Why has there been no outcry from the general public to this? Maybe they get that it's a TV show...? It has nothing to do with McMahon dieing it has to do with the tribute shows to himself and ringing the bell 10 times. Up to this point those events only have taken place out of character and now he has decided to throw this into the show for a cheap pop which is just tasteless and disrespectful to all of those who had tribute shows in the past. Or, you believe as if Bret Hart did when Owen died in saying Vince McMahon did a tribute show for Owen only because he knew the fans would be drawn into the show and having Stone Cold bash a beer can and the end of the show was somehow respectful to Owen at the end of the show when in fact McMahon wanted to "save the best for last" because of ratings. Either the tribute shows are real or they are not. Which ever anyone prefers is fine with me but you can't flip flop.

So I guess by your logic the news is a TV show as well. 24 and Law and Order are TV shows that have actors reading from a script. I doubt seriously that the producers of said shows would do something as childish and idiotic as McMahon has done. Maybe they get that it's a TV show...?: I'm very sorry that your beloved wrestling explosion turned out to be fake. Who would have thought such a thing from something as real and professional as rasslin'. I get that it is a TV show but comparing it to actual TV dramas or even sitcoms is ridiculous.
