Letcher County Central 9 Leslie County 7

Baseball always seems to be the last program to get to stick their hand in the piggy bank. I'm guessing its the same at Letcher Central!

It's not fair, but how it is. I came to that realization a long time ago.

Simply put, they built an absolutely, second to none school complex, Football field (with a Jumbotron) and they have a Soccer field, other facilities.

The Baseball field, was graded and grass was growing. Construction began on the school, materials were stored and damage, was not corrected.

I remember when Knott had a tough time getting a new field. When they got it, it was well worth it.

And its very nice!:thumb:

Yea, they could have used the soccer field for storage. All they do is kick a ball around. :D

Thanks, the team and boosters try to keep it nice as possible.:thumb:

I am really glad for coach Dean. I think this is one of many for him if he chooses to stay at LCC.

Agreed.

But they need to get started on the new field or Coach Dean may exit the scene. I overheard some of their fans grumbling about it last night after the game. They're getting restless. Hopefully the Letcher BOE will take action and do something about it.

Congrats to LCC! Good Luck at the Sectionals!

This was one of the better games I have seen! Both teams played their hearts out. We're very proud of our Leslie Eagles team! A lot of people didn't think they would make it to the championships, they proved those people wrong. They gave it their all and they came up just a little short.

Letcher County had one of the most fundamentaly sound teams we played all season. Coach Dean has done all of this in only two years. I wonder what some of the folks at Powell Co. that made life a nightmare for him are saying now?

Professor I was wondering the same thing but was going to wait for someone else to say it. Thats life you have a good coach and you lose them. Did Powell Co. even make it to the region this year.

Nope but they won it last year.

Yes they did. I just wonder who was responsible for getting those kids fundamentally ready. They had only been to the region 6 consecutive years prior to last season. With 4 district championships and 3 14th region runner-ups during that time, I would say that those kids knew how to play the game. -- I wonder if the same will be said for them a few years from now. Time will tell.
