HOMELESS CAMEL Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Final 10th region tournament 1st round. Brossart faces the winner of Montgomery Co/Harrison Co tomorrow at 5pm.
Hilltopper2005 Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Actually it was 9-2. The runner on 3rd apparently left too soon for St. Pat in the 7th and was called out after an appeal. Harrison scored 10 in the 1st and breezed past Montgomery saving their top 3 pitchers.
Hilltopper2005 Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 I was surprised that Mutsch (sp.) pitched for Brossart. Isn't he supposed to be their #1? Where has he signed to play next year?
Old Soda Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Are you kidding? They pitched Mutsch against St. Pats? WOW that is a shocker. He has signed to play at Xavier next year. How much did he pitch? Is he done for the rest of the tournament? If so, you have to question that decision.

kybredsfan Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 He went 5 innings so he will be able to pitch in the championship game if they get there.
BGGreen Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Kyle Kramer, their catcher who played LF today, also pitched two scoreless innings in relief--KK the Closer!!
Automatic Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 If Kramer pitched and played left today, I assume Tyler Verst caught. Did any others players play out of position, or starters sit/subs play?

I wasn't questioning the camels or their coaching decisions in past posts on here. Why would you question Brossart. You seem knowledgeable about the game. Don't you think the Brossart staff has good reasons for its decisions.

To throw any of your top 3 is questionable for a team like Brossart against St. Pat. Whether Soda is trying to stir the pot or not, he does make a valid point.
gchs_uk9 Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Was the final 9-3 or 9-2? The thread says 3, but KHSAA says 2.

Old Soda Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Honestly I wasn't trying to do that at all. I like Ky Thorobred just thought it was strange. I commend St. Pat for making it but they are not on the same level as the four teams left in the tournament and I just thought it kinda strange that the ace went against them. I am sure the Mustang staff has some sort of reason for doing it. Whether it costs them or not remains to be seen.

Even if they beat Harrison I don't think Mutsch will have much to offer for the Finals.
