UKMustangFan Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Went and saw this today, and I really enjoyed it. Maybe my favorite of the three. What did everyone else think? Edit: I just realized I named the thread after the 2nd movie....Can a mod change that to At World's End? Thanks.
PepRock01 Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Yawn is all I can say. They should have left it at one movie. Did I hate it? No, but it was by no means special.
Dlbdonn Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Make darn sure that you have a good 8 hours sleep before you see this dog !!!ARF
Dlbdonn Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Don't get me wrong there was lots of action in the film but to quote Mr Obvious the story line was "Ponderous man, ponderous " and they didn't have any orange smoothies there either .
NHS BIG DADDY Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 You know, I had to sit and think really really long about what POTC meant. But alas I know now. Saved me from having to ask what it was.
lcdawg4life Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 I personally loved it and I am going to go see it again tonight.
UKPat02 Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Call me lame, but I have no clue what POTC3 is. Is that another droid in Star Wars?

HOMELESS CAMEL Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 The curse of the third part. Spidey 3, Shrek 3 and now Pirates 3. All letdowns, even if Pirates is the best of them, isn't saying much. The only problem I can recall with part 1 is that it was 20 minutes too long. I don't recall having any problems with 2 and that brings me to part 3. This movie is an HOUR, that's right an HOUR too long. Overblown, overdrawn, overdramatic, etc, etc. I understand you want to give each character "closure" but my goodness. Thankfully these actors looked like they cared enough, unlike Spiderman 3. This won't be the last one, we will have a Jack Sparrow standalone movie soon enough. He will likely be the only returning character, but he would be the only one I would want to see again anyway. Unreleated to the movie, but I can pass it along, the writers of these 3 Pirates movies and rumored to be doing a western movie, not just any old western, there is a rumor they are going to write a series of Lone Ranger movies. Last but not least, the "extra footage" at the end is a joke and not worth sitting through 27 hours of credits. Thankfully I can look forward to the Reds game tonight cheering me up.
PepRock01 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I don't think it is the curse of the third in this case, the second one was crap too.
HOMELESS CAMEL Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I don't think it is the curse of the third in this case, the second one was crap too. I haven't seen part 2 since I saw it in theatres last year, maybe I would like it less if I saw it again.
Cawoodball player Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I have to say Pirates 3 has been my favorite.
MJAlltheWay24 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I don't think it is the curse of the third in this case, the second one was crap too. I haven't gone to see the third one yet, I'm sure I eventually will. But I will agree that I didn't think the second one was anywhere near as good as the first.
C-A-T-S Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Man what a GREAT movie, but it took 2 HOURS and 30 MINUTES to get there...zzzzz
ladiesbballcoach Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Make darn sure that you have a good 8 hours sleep before you see this dog !!!ARF Dozed off 3 times during the movie. Lots of parts that were not needed. The whole white crab scene could have been done a lot shorter. Ending was action packed but that was it. To me, worse of the bunch and the next will probably be Jack Sparrow only and be even worse.
