So no reason, for their to ever be a discrepancy, in W/L.

The records for Dixie are not correct. Not sure where they came from but if they came from the KHSAA website not all games played are recorded there. I know that in 2005 Dixie's actual record was 23-8 and their 2004 record was 25-7. Not sure about the other years.

 

The records came from the KHSAA site.

Also, not sure what Dixie's 2003 record was but I am sure they played more games than 21 games. I would guess that they won one or two more games and lost four or five more than the given 6-15 record indicates.

Even CovCath record is incorrect as they are 27-9 (per CovCath team web page) even though the KHSAA shows them as 25-9. I know the difference is the make up game agisnt Holmes due to Holmes Prom, which was victory, and the Doc Morris wooden bat tourney victory (Josh Bleser no hit) against Scott are the difference.

How about Brossart? 109-75 since 2002...

 

Well I was just going to blast you about how Brossart is not a 9th region team, because I started this thread to be just about the 9th top teams. However I see you are right because the title of the thread I only put NKY teams and not just 9th region, so that means it would include Brossart...:thumb:

Using the number of appearances in the region tourney as a measuring stick does not give one an accurate picture. Lets say HC always is a top 5 team in NKY but never makes the region due to being with CCH and BW while Dixie and Ludlow make it every year from the 34th. You're telling me that tells us that Dixie and Ludlow have a better program?? If you said they have a better "draw" I'd agree.

However people tend to forget that Ludlow has only been in this new district for 2 years, and before this year they were playing in the toughest district in the region with CovCath and Holy Cross. And I guess maybe you all dont realize that before Ludlow switched districts that they had made the region 3 out of the last 4 years from that district. So dont go playing the district stuff on me, because Ludlow was making the region before they moved into this weaker district. And yes valid point about Holy Cross, however now I dont want to hear about it, because yet once again you all fail to say the same thing about Ludlow when they were in that tough district and had teams that should have been in the region. Playing in that tough district cost Ludlow two more trips to the region tournament, when they had teams that were definitely one of the top 8 teams in the region.

 

So yes I dont play just the region apperances into account, because I do look at the team, and maybe if they just got a bad draw, and alot like Holy Cross this year, Ludlow experienced that twice while in that district in this decade. Also I dont know where you got your records from, but the records you have from Ludlow is nowhere close to being right my man. I know you probably got it from site, and it wasn't you, but you should have known better to post it, because I would hope even you would have realized that those records are not true. But now that it is posted people may not realize it, and actually think those were Ludlows records..

 

So I have taken into account everything, and when you talk about the top teams in the 9th region since 2001 Ludlow is in the mix like it or not. Yeah you have only listed 3 teams, but can you answer the thread and actually add more than just 3 teams as the top baseball programs in the 9TH REGION since 2001. And I find it hard if you have anyone else over Ludlow as one of the top 8 teams. Also as for Ludlow and Holy Cross it is a toss up between the two on who just be ahead, because I know before Ludlow left that district they were beating Holy Cross and making the region more than Holy Cross was...

I will have to say only four teams would I feel should be on your list, and yes I understand you asked for eight.

Yes Ludlow made the Region quite a few times but did they really have a chance of going to the State Tournament? Well I take that back, they might have had a losing record last year as well because they had a very young team, but I not sure on that record...But your one winning season out of six is WRONG!

I understand what you are saying. But see this is what gets me frustrated on here sometimes, is how quickly people forget. So they have to be right up there along with those teams. People keep mentioning Ryle though but have they won the region in this decade? Have the even done much in the regional tournament. I seen people put down Ludlow, but they have seemed to do the same as Ryle, and I could be wrong on this but I think Ludlow has made the region more in this decade, and when Ryle has made it they have been about the same as Ludlow in not getting past the 1st round. Then what is their year by year record? Someone else posted they are 57-56 in the time frame. I would love to see actual numbers posted if those posted earlier are supposed to be wrong.

Trust me, I can go a lot farther back about some of the great teams Ludlow has had in baseball, but.....even those team, could they have won the Region in any of those years?

 

While I think it is great that Ludlow has had the chance to compete in the Region, in both basketball (of late) and baseball, it still doesn't take away from the fact that if Ludlow (again of late) wouldn't even be in the Ninth Region if they were still in the old 34th. In fact, I will go so far to say, that the teams that you have put on the Diamond since you got in the new 34th haven't come close to the quality of some of the teams that Ludlow put on the field in the old 34th that lost.....Ludlow did have some great teams.......

I would say Brossart has been a top team lately. Over the past three years they have a record of 57-36 and currently have a record of 24-12 this year with a very difficult schedule. Also regional semi-finalist last year, I would say they are also a very good program.

Futurecoach - I admire your loyalty to Ludlow. All teams should have fans that loyal. However, again, your loyalty has blinded you into thinking they are a top team.
