Nicholas County Head Coaching Job

Featured Replies

Anyone have any information related to this opening. Are they close to naming a coach yet? End of the school year and summer ball about to start, one would think a coach would be in place.

Heard through the grapevine that Orazen (the principal) has some ties with Jennifer Cornett the assistant at Union College is the front runner for the job an kelsch is out.

We have been waiting for over a month to know when they will officially announce who got the job.

should hopefully know by the 2nd week of June. Did hear they r going to give Kelsch an interview but probably won't get the job.

They wait for along period of time.

If they wait till the second week of June, they will be WAY behind for summer ball, camps, etc. What is wrong with the administration up there? This should have been a done deal at least a couple of weeks ago. The Nicholas County girls team is a young up and coming team with talent that deserves better.

Way of girls' sports. Not pointing out Nicholas County in particular but many, many times and for a variety of reasons, girls jobs take time to fill while they jump all over filling the boys' jobs.

What sort of ties, and has or where did she coach high school.

She hasn't coached high school. Jennifer is a graduate of Madison Central High School. She then played baskeball for Union College. After graduation, she became an assistant at Union.

I know her family well. My youngest son played basketball with her younger brothers at Madison Central

So do you know if she has been offered the job?

I haven't heard. Seeing it on here is the first I've heard that she's trying to get a high school job.

I was talking to someone close to the Bracken County Lady Bear program today and they said that they had talked to Coach Kelsch and he still hadnt heard anything from Nicholas Co.

I want the best for Coach Kelsch (which he needs to be a head coach), but I, as well as my daughter, am happy as a lark that he will be back wearing Bracken Co. Blue next season

Ive heard through some reliable sources that Kelsch has heard from NCHS and met with them some time ago.

However, about naming a coach... when it comes to sports here, the administration is never on top of things it seems.

I know that Coach Kelsch spoke with Nicholas Co. regarding a teaching position, but nothing regarding coaching was mentioned.

Heard today that the coach that went to Boyle Co. was offered the job as long as the assistant could also come. But evidently that didn't pan out either. So I guess they are back to the drawing board. Who knows what Nicholas Co will do. Seems like they do alot bass ackwards.
