Anyone notice how the hog seems to be a different size in each photo? Also notice that the boy and his dad in the hanging photo are standing slightly back to give the illusion of size. The one where it's being lifted by the backhoe seems to be the most accurate.

The pig was killed on a "pay to hunt" private preserve. They breed and feed those things for size. "Wild" boars are actually interbred with domestic stock.

A couple of other things I had a problem with were in the story by the "investigative reporter". Although the employees at the Clay County Farmers Exchange verified that the scales had been state inspected recently, none of the employees actually witnessed the hog being weighed. Also, no one in the town seemed to be aware of it until the pictures appeared in the local paper. Doesn't sound like small town America to me.

Did anyone read the "negative comments" section? Those PETA people are definitely off the wall. My favorite was "Just because he was different from the other pigs doesn't mean he didn't have a family and a mate to go home to".

  I agree, Rosie does have a mate and family :sssh: :D . I did not read it but I can certainly believe it out of that worthless bunch. I relate them to the ACLU....................have completely ruined their own cause by their own idiot actions.

I personally am a member of PETA in that I :

"E"ating

"T"asty

"A"nimals.

WLKY here in Louisville is doing a special report about the hog right now. Apparently this is completely true.

:scared: I don't know what I would do if I ever saw that thing in the woods...

One thing is for sure If I was hunting it I would be packing a little bit more firepower. Not a pistol!
