May 23, 200719 yr Someone needs to talk him down off the ledge. The is the worst possible situation for the NBA IMO. Now the East/West divide becomes even more apparent. It makes me sick that the Blazers got the #1. I can't wait for the Sports guys article on this. This is a terrible situation for the NBA.
May 23, 200719 yr If Portland resigns Jamaal Magloire then that would make more sense. Portland has 3 quality big men in Aldridge, Pryzbilla, and Magloire (if they re-sign him). I'm sure they have realized by now that Darius Miles isn't going to be the superstar that everyone thought, so I really see them going with Durant!
May 23, 200719 yr Why is it terrible for the NBA? Two very marketable, young, sure superstars are going to be playing in a top heavy conference on teams that get very little national exposure......Oden or Durrant to Boston could have somehow revived the Celtics and possibly the entire Eastern Conference.....
May 23, 200719 yr I would have liked to see Oden in Celtic green, oh well, he will he a good center for ........

May 23, 200719 yr Author Boston sports fans today = UK fans after another loss to Vandy http://boards.boston.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=1&nav=messages&webtag=bc-celtics&tid=10483&redirCnt=1 Complete with "FIRE DANNY!" and "Darkest day in Boston sports history" posts.
May 23, 200719 yr Author Did anyone see SportsCenter this morning and hear what Jon Barry said? He said that the Blazers should trade the pick for 3 veterans that could come in and help right away. He said the Blazers don't need another young guy and Oden isn't ready so they shouldn't wait on him.
May 23, 200719 yr Hard to say how this shakes out. If Lewis and Allen are back for Seattle, do they need Durant? Do they try to make a trade with Portland to get the number 1? Portland doesnt NEED Oden, but he would be great for them. Are they up for trading the pick and taking Durant at #2? Could be interesting. I definitely would have liked to have seen at least one of the two in the East. The rich get richer.

May 23, 200719 yr Author SportsGuy blames himself... We headed back to Dad's house, watched the lottery show and decided on a pay-per-view movie to kill two hours (and some nervous energy). We were leaning toward "The Good Shepherd" until we realized it was 168 minutes. Dad didn't want to see "Bobby." Both of us agreed that "Children of Men" was too depressing. No, we needed an action movie. We needed to see things blow up. I pushed hard for "Déjà Vu" because you can always count on Denzel, even in the worst possible movie. He's like KG that way. Dad agreed. We bought the movie. It took us a solid hour to realize our mistake: Not that we rented a bad movie, but that we rented a movie named "Déjà Vu" 10 years after the Duncan lottery. I don't know if this was the dumbest suggestion I've ever made in my life, but it's definitely in the top five. I inadvertently filmed my own Bad Idea Jeans commercial. After playing the karma card perfectly all week, I self-destructed at the worst possible time. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/070523&sportCat=nba

Very true, but Portland is going to be getting a lot of exposure in the next 2-3 years IMO. A starting 5 of Jack, Roy, Randolph, Aldridge, and Oden is going to be a force very soon IMO.

On Sundays thats about it and typically the Lakers play on the majority of the Sunday games on regular TV. Most casual fans won't get to see much of them.
