May 21, 200719 yr Tuesday is the lottery. I would like to see the Celtics come away with the #1, but I doubt it happens. The Grizz have the most ping pong balls... Like that matters................we all know the Grizz will not get the first pick.
May 21, 200719 yr ^Why? That Oden plans to dictate an organization's draft plans before he's even under contract.
May 21, 200719 yr That Oden plans to dictate an organization's draft plans before he's even under contract. I heard that today and was taken aback a little bit. You are about ready to get millions and be set for life financially. Maybe a chance to help turn around a franchise, get to the playoffs, etc, etc. Now he comes out and says that? Granted he could have said A LOT worse, but he just needs to be very happy with the chance he is going to get next year and not try and dictate roster moves.
May 22, 200719 yr Lots of scenarios in that article......I am intrigued with Phoenix having 3 first round picks (Atlanta's, Cleveland's, and their own) and a potential deal with Chicago for Amare.....
May 22, 200719 yr Why would the Suns get rid of a 1st team All-Pro for an unproven commodity? The article mentioned chemistry problems although that's the first I'd ever heard of it....
May 22, 200719 yr That Oden plans to dictate an organization's draft plans before he's even under contract. Seems to me that if I'm an NBA GM, I'm doing whatever it takes to make it happen. We're not talking about college recruiting, where to get a five-star guy a school also has to agree to bring along his HS teammate, a 6-4 center who averaged 8 pts and 9 boards. Conley will be a star PG in the NBA.

May 22, 200719 yr If the Celtics did score Oden that would be huge. They were a laugh last year, but pairing a healthy Paul Pierce with an inside presence (Oden), along with a still maturing Gerald Green (players normally take 3 years out of high school to come into their own, this will be Green's third year) then Boston could see a nice turn around. I mean no chance at the playoffs or anything but a lot better season for sure.
