Who..... TJ?

Yeah, OK. Good luck with that.

I'd be careful, you may be surprised.

I would be truly surprise if TJ would leave for the East job, my understanding is when Hoof leaves the Raceland job is TJ's

Then I am waiting to be surprised, because I would be more surprised than anyone.

East Carter offered T.J. Maynard the assistant principle job as well as head coach. But just to put the rumors to rest, T.J. has turned down the job and will remain at Raceland. I heard this one straight from the horses mouth. No way he is leaving RHS. He has it way to good here, and when Coach Hoof decides to hang it up, T.J. will definetly be the next head coach at Raceland.

Exactly, that is why I was sure he was staying.

I want to set a few things straight. First, East Carter is not "going after" anyone. They have opened the application process. Yes, it is my understanding that Coach Damron talked to TJ about being an assistant principal, but that was before Coach Damron resigned as Head Coach. I might be wrong, but I don't think TJ was ever offered the Head Coaching position. I think he would have been considered for the job if he had taken the AP job though.

On a personal note, as I said in my broadcast when I broke this story Monday evening, East Carter can look long and hard and not find a man who is a better role model and display more character and integrity than Donald Damron. I have known Don for more than 30 years now (we are both 40, met when we were about 5 years old) and he is the definition of CLASS. As has already been stated, he made a decision that he really didn't want to make, but put Family ahead of Football, which is tough for some people to do. I hate to see him leave the program, but understand and support his decision completely.

^ You are correct. I have a great deal of respect for Donald and Dane Dameron, they are both good people and good role models. I'm sure leaving football, for now, was a hard decision for Donald, but I am sure given the circumstances he was glad to do it. The Damerons are in my prayers, and I hope for the best.

I had heard they talked to him about the job, not sure if there was an offer. I hate to see Donald leave the coaching profession. But I am glad he will not be on the sidelines when East plays the Rams this year. His teams have always been very prepared when they have played the Rams in the past.

What about Rudy??????????????????????

Give some love to Rudy, is he considered for the Head Coach job?

Any truth to the rumor that a former West Carter Comet is going to apply for the job?

I won't mention the name let's just see if anybody from Carter County can guess who it is.

I don't think ECHS could go wrong with a Brown brother

Good Luck to ECHS on finding a coach, Imo they will get a good one.

Absolutely great post here GR! :thumb: Dameron is all class and I have always witnessed a class act under his leadership on thew East sidelines. Prayers and good wishes to the Dameron Family.

PS, it is not a Brown brother.
