Like I said, some may disagree, and I'm not saying he's a bad kid. As far as me though, I wear hats backwards all the time, as does my son...but I can only imagine what my old man would've done if he saw me walking around the field before a game with my school's logo turned around on my head

I think this falls under the category of "times they are a changin'." Do you dislike the long pants instead of them coming to the knee? Do you dislike high top spikes? Wrist bands?

 

If we're talking about issues like hustle and baseball IQ not being the same today, I'm agreeing with you. Other issues like the ones I mentioned are not that big of a deal to me.

And that's my rub...how many of the other seniors in the class had anything close to such a punishment that the ball players did in missing their last home game at CovCath . Rules are rules and they should be followed, but gee let the punishment fit the crime.....maybe a Saturday afternoon working on the field, or a day next week working with a local knothole team or something like that, but your last home game for playing dodge ball something the the entire senior class did? I remember a couple of months ago when another team from Covington only got a five game suspension for doing a whole lot worse than these kids did.

 

I could say more, but.......not real happy for the seniors and their parents, as there are far too many good kids on this team for them to remember their last home game this way......

 

In my opinion, Senior Day is overrated...especially if you're on a team expected to make some postseason noise. I remember my Senior Day which was a district game against Oldham County (football) and all we were really thinking about was...if we win we have LexCath or HHS in 2 weeks. Point being, I guess it's kinda nice for the parents but from a player's standpoint, it's overhyped. 2 cents.

I know "the vacuums" parents, and I would have to think that they would be very proud to walk out and acknowledge that thier son was a three year starter, while also being able to kick a--s (literally) on the gridiron.
