My question is, since the prank was on Monday this week, why did coach wait until today to have them sit? They could have sat on Tuesday which was the game against New Cath. Oh well, I guess coach would only know the answer to that.

If memory serves, I think Thursday is "official" DT day at CCH.

Well you've certainly aroused my curiosity. Can you identify what their "civil disobedience" was?

My understanding is that at exactly 9:00 on Monday, every senior (other than 2 taking an AP Physics exam) left their classroom, went outside to the practice field by Dixie Hwy and proceded to play a 6-minute game of Dodgeball. They then went back to class.

I'm surprised that score wasn't closer than this...especially since no seniors played. What were Krohman's final numbers?

Who filled in for the seniors?

Wow, serious stuff. ;)

I think the school administrators should drag them all back outside, line them up facing one another, give them a good talking to about rules . . . . and let them play another game of dodgeball. Just to teach them a valuable life lesson.

Who filled in for the seniors?

Shover 2B, Nutini CF, Darner 3B ( everyday starter but still the Vacuum wasn't playing), Isler/Sanola 1B, Gerwe DH, LaFever LF, Furnish RF.

And that's my rub...how many of the other seniors in the class had anything close to such a punishment that the ball players did in missing their last home game at CovCath . Rules are rules and they should be followed, but gee let the punishment fit the crime.....maybe a Saturday afternoon working on the field, or a day next week working with a local knothole team or something like that, but your last home game for playing dodge ball something the the entire senior class did? I remember a couple of months ago when another team from Covington only got a five game suspension for doing a whole lot worse than these kids did.

I could say more, but.......not real happy for the seniors and their parents, as there are far too many good kids on this team for them to remember their last home game this way......

Yep, and young Gerwe DH, was for the Junior Niehaus......

Almost like it was the start of the 08 season, not the current seniors last home game.

Now if CovCath wanted, it won't happen, but it could, play the JV tourney on Friday against Campbell with this sophomore only lineup that beat a very good Boone County varsity team today.....

Can anyone elaberate on this Holy Cross beating Ryle 4-1??

Careful, Oldguy.... there is a well documented understanding that one of the Cov Cath star players was guilty in the same incident. It just so happens that CCHS punished the player in a not so "public" fashion. Same crime, different punishment.

Neither Maile or Farris did anything special. I do know that it was very unsportsman like for Maile to approach the field ump after a balk call was made. I believe he should have had a little more class than that and let his coach's take care of whatever they felt was wrong with the call.

As for the seniors not playing, I heard that like 100 seniors were suspended or acquired a detention from a senior prank they pulled. The school rule says that they are not allowed to play after serving a detention so i don't think they were even elligable for the night.

Luke was right about the balk call, but as far as unsportsmanlike, I've seen him many times walking on a baseball field with his cap on backwards, rather it be home or away. Might not bother some, but it definitely rubs me the wrong way
