SouthernSportsFan Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Great new article about Patterson, Kentucky, and the recruiting of college basketball players... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/luke_winn/05/17/patterson.kentucky/index.html
02Ram54 Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 (Recall that the guy for whom we performed a similar overreaction routine in the spring of 2006, Darrell Arthur, turned out to be a solid sixth man for Kansas as a freshman, not a star. Also, Arthur was a better prospect than Patterson coming out of high school, and remains a better NBA prospect.)Something to keep in mind.
UKMustangFan Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Something to keep in mind. I don't get it.... If Patterson is as good as Arthur I'll be happy.
02Ram54 Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 ^ He's not. Also, Arthur was a better prospect than Patterson coming out of high school, and remains a better NBA prospect.
strike-3 Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 ^ He's not. Big deal, that one man's opinion. If we went by everything that SI said, Felipe Lopez would be dominating the NBA still.
UKMustangFan Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 ^ He's not. Yeah, and we all know rankings mean so much....
NHS BIG DADDY Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Big deal, that one man's opinion. If we went by everything that SI said, Felipe Lopez would be dominating the NBA still. Very true.
hoopsrbest Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 I was in Huntington last week and you'll never believe what I saw. Patterson was walking across the Ohio river.
RADIO GUY Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Big deal, that one man's opinion. If we went by everything that SI said, Felipe Lopez would be dominating the NBA still. Well said:ylsuper:

just 4 fun Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 ^ He's not. Authur was actually ranked as the #3 PF in his class behind Brandon Wright and Felipe Lopez of Stanford...Patterson is #2 in this years class, so, it's debatable who's actually the better prospect..Add in the fact that KU was a #1 seed last year and quite possibly the most talented team overall, player for player, in the country, so, I really don't see any comparison or reason to think Author underachieved...In addition PP will be the best post player on UK and will have alot more opportunity to shine...They sure don't have the supporting cast around Author like KU did...
