I was just curious how each region does their Regional tournaments. I know for example the 8th is held at Henry County every year and the 11th rotates between Frankfort and EKU. How do all other regions host?

 

How big of an advantage is it to have a tournament hosted at a high school in the region? Is it fair?

Any time a team, gets to play on its home floor, there is an advantage. With that said, teams must have the talent to compete and some certainly do, while other host schools don't.

 

Games must be played somewhere, based off many criteria items. I'm sure schools that feel like, they meet hosting requirements will submit and hope they are included, in the rotation.

In the 14th region, you have to be approved and put in the rotation of host schools.

It's apples and oranges. Some people think it's an advantage and some don't.

This year Cov. Cath. beat Holmes 3 times and Holmes beats them on there home floor to win the region. On the other hand Clark Co. beat Mason in the fieldhouse. I can remember them losing to Campbell Co. and Brossart in back to back years about 10 years ago as well.

Finally, starting in either 08 or 09 it won't make a difference in the Ninth, as the region will be playing at the new Bank of Kentucky Arena @ NKU. The new arena will seat nine to ten thousands fans, with no parking problems, no over heated gym, and no home floor advantage to anyone. A dream come true for this Ninth Region Basketball fan.......

Of course it is an advantage to play on your home court. How could it not be?

No team should get to play at their place every year for any tourney!

Yes and yes, it is the 40th district turn to host the 10th region this coming year.

Mason County hosting the region every year is a crock, could you imagine the stink that would rise if Scott County was able to play the region at home every year. In the NAIA Mid South ConferenceTournament they even recently stopped letting the higher seed host MSC Tournament Games, now the Tournament is held at a neutral site in Frankfort. If you seriously think there is no advantage in playing at home then how about letting Scott County host the Region!!! I know for a fact that Scott County could have possibly gotten beat by Bryan Station this year had not the district (which rotates every year) been hosted at Scott County. SC loses that game then possbly plays Madison Central first/second round which was ripe for beating SC....home court = advantage, just my opinion!

Yes it's definitely an advantage. Some teams just overcome it!

It's an advantage IMHO.

Here in the 16th region the games are held at MSU. It's centrally located for the schools in the region, large enough to house the number of fans attending and has ample parking to accomodate everyone.

Latest word that I have heard is that the 10th Region Championship has unoffically/offically been moved to Montgomery County, can any one else confrim this?
