April 30, 200719 yr Zeke was better, so was Stockton. Magic unquestionably. Jason Kidd might be, although Nash has been better lately. I'm sort of with Hammertime on this one, I don't think Nash is nearly as good a basketball player as he is given credit for. He is a great "team" guy on a team with a lot of finishers. Very, very good player -- not what I'd call an all-time elite guy. I can't believe it took this long for a mention of Zeke. I'm not sold on Stockton being better, but I would say it's close either way. If Phoenix wins the ring this year his stock in this discussion has to go up. Seriously? I think gets less credit than he deserves b/c so many people are saying he doesn't deserve all the credit. I agree that he has great finishers, but last year he was 1 game from the finals and he didn't have Amare. Kidd is outstanding, but I honestly don't think he would run this team as well. Kidd is probably in the discussion of the top 5 pgs of all time, so even saying he could do the same is a compliment.

April 30, 200719 yr He won 2 straight MVP's I think A LOT of people are giving him credit. But it's a big controversy and some people refuse to vote him this year's MVP b/c they say he shouldn't win 3 in a row even though this has been his best year.

April 30, 200719 yr If wins the championship this year, does your view of him change? Nope. They have a GREAT team. A lot of PG's would flourish in that system.
April 30, 200719 yr Nope. They have a GREAT team. A lot of PG's would flourish in that system. Not to the same degree as Nashie. Could you imagine Jamaal Tinlsey dishing out 23 assists? Jason Williams? Mo Williams?
April 30, 200719 yr Not to the same degree as Nashie. Could you imagine Jamaal Tinlsey dishing out 23 assists? Jason Williams? Mo Williams? Tinsley yes. Williams and Williams no.
April 30, 200719 yr Nash is a great player, has a strong case to win his 3rd straight MVP, BUT, he hasn't won a championship! Until he or Jason Kidd come through and win a title, you have to put them both behind Magic, Isaiah, the Big-O, Bob Cousy, and John Stockton.
April 30, 200719 yr HT, you do realize how bad this team plays without Nash don't you? They're great, but they also feed off of him... He's a great PG and always has been... And now he's in his prime. Do I think he deserved both those MVPs? The first one, absolutely... The second one... Not so much... But if he wins it this year, he's very deserving.

What exactly are you baseing that on?? 5 games.
April 30, 200719 yr What exactly are you baseing that on?? 5 games. Basing what on? That the team struggles without him? Nash has been with the team 3 years now... In that time they are 173-57 in games that he has played... and 4-12 without him... It's just the simple facts.
