Now look at this roster.

Now, tell me that the high school team couldn't compete with the NCAA D3 team.

I have known of a few kids that started at NCAA D3 and NCAA D2 schools that never started in high school. I think one year in the 80s Union College had 3 starters that never started a game for their high school teams, and they hadn't played high school at powerhouse programs.

No, they couldn't be competitive, on a consistent basis. College athletes, are older, physically stronger and have 2-3 additional years, of competition.

Besides, Centre overall record was 29-5 (4th-Place NCAA Div. III), NCAC 15-1 (Champions)....don't agree, with this comparison.

Make that a double :thumb: :thumb:

I am sure that Centre college could beat Garrad Co. I am not sure Centre could have beaten Scott Co, Ballard, Holmes, or Warren Central this year. This is not a knock on Centre. Heck Centre is a beautiful place and Danville is one of my favorite towns. I know that the high school head jobs pay more than the D3 and NAIA2 head jobs MOST of the time. I remember asking a very successful head coach about applying for an NAIA2 job once. He said he would have to take about a 50% cut in pay going from the HS job to the NAIA2 job.

I am sure Centre could beat any high school team in the state. You obviously haven't seen them play. And I believe the article in the local paper says Coach Bolin is still going to teach at Garrard. So I doubt he will be taking much of a pay cut.

That's just crazy. College teams, with the extra maturity and strength of the players, would not lose to HS teams unless that HS team has some game-breaker NBA-types.

I agree! It would be hard for any high school team to compete with college level kids. The difference between 16/17 and 20/21 is tremendous.

I heard yesterday that Kent Miller has applied. Of course what job hasn't he applied for in the last 2 months!?
