Tim Phillips a 2k rusher?

I suppose it isn't that far fetched but I still have a hard time wrapping my mind around such a tiny guy being that good of a back.

Well Tim played 12 games last season, and ran for 1,200 yards on 131 carries, for 9.2 ypc, and 22 td's....12 games....it's evident that we will rely on him much more this season, I would say 1,800 yards for sure...and he will still have one more year after this upcoming one...WOW.....

How does Zlatan compare to Ryan? I had heard some people say he is even better, which I have a very hard time believing.

In reality our punting will be more suspect than it has in sometime...Zlatan struggles in catching the ball but gets nice hang time...he needs to get more consistent though...as far as pure leg strength....his leg is stronger than Ryan's but again is less consistent...Ryan had more hang time on his kickoffs...but the difference won't be noticed nearly as much...I am quite proud of how top notch our kicking game has become, it's one of those weapons that can really help in tight games.

In all seriousness, are the Trinity people surprised that five in-state teams (aside from St. Xavier) stepped up to the plate to play non-district games? I half expected the Shamrocks to have more than one out-of-state opponent on the schedule.

I can't speak for the Trinity people, but Bowling Green has played X the last couple of years, so no surprise there. PRP has a young coach trying to improve by playing a rugged schedule. Butler? A suicide march-Trinity, X, Manual, Male, PRP. Friedrich Nietzsche said that what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Butler will test this theorum.

Trinity plays 3 out of city teams and 1 out of state.....X only plays 2 out of city team altogether.....finally X fans can't complain about T's weak schedule being the reason they dominate every season.

Yeah T's schedule is very tough this year. They will really have to be playing as a whole this year if they want the same outcome as last season.

I believe the complaint (or observation) was not as much "T's weak schedule being the reason they dominate...." but rather that T's playoff schedule... BTW, Male fans also made this observation. True or not, T won state, and that is what counts.

Staying on topic, last season Trinity was much more impressive on the ground than many expected. Phillips returns, but what of the O-line? RP predicted "as good as last seasons". My question: Returning starters or new blood?

Good point Diogenes about being more impressive last year....New Blood, Sounds Scary.

I am looking forward to better games, some of the games last year were fun but

I understand that three starters of the 06 offensive lineman ( Robey- Griffin-Kupper) all return along with part time starter, Mattingly. Schweitzer has started some at center and played all JV games last year.

Stein at QB will be the key to the success of Trinity.

Looking at last years roster on the website there should be 31 seniors on the 08 team.

I have a question for the Trinity fans or anyone I guess.

Trinity pretty much rolled through Kentucky last season with the exception of Male's great team that could not beat Trinity at home in the playoffs. Not too mention Trinity's recent State Title runs.

MBA beat Trinity last season and has had good success against Trinity in the last several years. I can't imagine MBA has more talent than Male, St.X and I know they don't have as much as Henry Clay. I have seen MBA as close as anyone can get and they are not that talented of a football team, good defensive line, good quarterback, nothing great anywhere was MBA last season. Yet, Trinity year in and year out is rolling through Kentucky with very little problem over very talented football teams with D1 players while MBA seems to have something on Trinity that no one in this state has.

My question is what does MBA do to Trinity that no one in Kentucky has seemed to figure out yet?

Really what I think MBA has over Trinity is just that they played us first. 2 of the 4 games we played against them the score was 17-13 in favor of MBA. They also came form behind to beat us 23-21 last year. Each year they show us our weeknesses and I think this has been one of the things that has allowed our teams to regroup and progress. Note, last time we did not win a title we beat them 35-7 to start the season.

They are a solid team that tends to make few mistakes and they play a solid team game.

I would agree with that.

One of the big reasons I brought this up is Trinity prides themselves on getting more out of their talent than anyone. I can't argue with that. When they are beating Henry Clay, St. X and Male this year I believe all three had more talent than Trinity.

But MBA was different. Honestly I think Trinity had better players than MBA after watching both of them this year. MBA did to Trinity what Trinity believes they do to everyone else.

3 of the 4 years MBA I believe has given up 21pts or less to Trinity. Trinity runs a lot of motions and odd empty sets to keep defenses off balance and confused but it doesn't seem to faze MBA like it does everyone else.

My question is what does MBA do to Trinity that no one in Kentucky has seemed to figure out yet?

Catch us sleeping...no more, no less...we dose through three quarters with these putzes...than we wake up..sometimes too late.

Very, very impressive schedule. I notice an opening on August 24, any chance of scheduling the Florida Gators?:D

It is difficult to find an area to improve. Concerns noted earlier in the thread

are specialty teams and qb. If the kicking game just maintains it will be among the best in the state. Petrino graduating will be a blow, but Stein should step up, and with the early season schedule he should grow into the position nicely.

Again, top flight schedule.

What happen to Manual?

What happen to Manual?

The series wasn't renewed. I am not sure if it was on our end our theirs.
