We need to improve on our play in the secondary and our special teams. I say special teams becuase Ryan Tyldacka is gone..Zlatan is awesome...but he has huge shoes to fill with our long, long line of all state caliber kickers....QB wise, Will should be fine, but will struggle a bit against teams that have a big DL and a decent rush...I would look for our running game to be super strong this season, maybe a 2K rusher.

As does having 350 or so boys to draw from in each class ...

There are other big schools and there are other school districts (Boone County for example) that don't have to keep building high schools.

This is for another thread but hopefully next time around the KHSAA will make both 6A and 1A 16 teams each and make 2A thru 5A four equal parts.

To have a 2K rusher, you have to have a solid front and be very patient. So you think T will be more balanced this season?

Well, they do so for academic reasons ... and I agree with that philosophy.

Trinity and St. Xavier have only 1,400 or so actual students, so their academic environment is no more crowded than most of the public 4A competition ... it's just that all of their students are boys.

We can agree to disagree West. The latest high school Boone is building must be all of about two air miles from Ryle.

I simply feel that there are many more reasons to keep schools at a size of 1,000-1,500 students than to allow them to become much bigger.

As far as I'm concerned, Trinity and St. Xavier choose to exploit their enrollment advantage ... as is their right. I don't think public schools should go bigger simply to combat that.

That is fine but then those schools have no right to complain about the size of T and X.

Back to the thread topic, Trinity is one of the very few schools I would advise to just carry on.

We will need to shore up our unit at the center position right away....other than that, our OL will be every bit as good as this past season's.

I predict our big, bad Hog-Mollies up front will lead to the 3-peat!!

I think this team will be very simular to the 2006 version, however I think the running game will be better (scary) and everything else will be so close that no one will really notice the diff. The only thing that people will notice is the punting, but hey T only punts every third friday.

Tim Phillips a 2k rusher?

I suppose it isn't that far fetched but I still have a hard time wrapping my mind around such a tiny guy being that good of a back.

Then again he certainly made a believer out of me last season, so I should have faith in him once again. :thumb:

How does Zlatan compare to Ryan? I had heard some people say he is even better, which I have a very hard time believing.

That was good.

I think Tim Phillips has great great vision, and great speed, could get 2k but I think it will be more like 1,000-1,500 depending on PT.

How does Zlatan compare to Ryan T? Ryan did all 3 at a D1-A level, was three year starter, great size, and hands. Zlatan I would think will do all 3 for the rocks but is more of a kicker not a punter. I think as far as punting, you will see a huge difference. But like I said not a huge concern for Trinity because they don't punt that much.

As far as kicking, Ryan had more distance and really a lot more height. That being said Zlaton will put many kickoffs into the endzone and I think will be a great kicker FG's and Kickoffs. Could be all-state. Zlatan could have been starting for just about every team in Ky as a Soph and Jr.

Very, very impressive schedule. I notice an opening on August 24, any chance of scheduling the Florida Gators?:D

It is difficult to find an area to improve. Concerns noted earlier in the thread

are specialty teams and qb. If the kicking game just maintains it will be among the best in the state. Petrino graduating will be a blow, but Stein should step up, and with the early season schedule he should grow into the position nicely.

Again, top flight schedule.
