August 9, 200719 yr Landmark loss. If Braves don't win today, it could be the turning point in the season. Mayday and Sorryano left a lot to be desired. Cox's loyalty to Sorryano proved again to be a mistake. In the end, don't be surprised if Castillo does more for the Mets than the much heralded "Big Tex" does for the Braves. So far, there seems to be a bit of a trend in that direction.
August 9, 200719 yr Things not looking great early. It's only 1-0, but the only out Hudson has gotten through 4 batters was a bunt sacrifice by Castillo. Reyes reached on an infield single and then was brought home by Wright after the aforementioned bunt. Delgado walked to put two on with one out.
August 9, 200719 yr Braves get four in the 5th on back to back homers by Chipper and Texiera. They lead 5-2.
August 9, 200719 yr Just got in from work, forgot the game was on. Good to see the Braves on top! Go braves!
August 9, 200719 yr Hudson just got out of a major jam in the 5th. He gave up one run in the inning and loaded the bases, but got away with a 5-3 lead intact. Tim is not having his usual start today. It's clearly going to be up to the bullpen at some point.
August 9, 200719 yr Two passed balls and an errant throw into the outfield. I'd say the Mets were lucky to get away with only one run coming across.
August 9, 200719 yr And heeeere we go. Men on 2nd and 3rd, no outs, 7-3 score. Yates is looking miiiiighty shaky....
August 9, 200719 yr Braves win it as Oscar comes in and saves the day. This could have been an even better series had the Braves not blown up yesterday, but at least they're another game closer. If they could play other teams as well as the Mets, they'd be in great shape. They've taken 8 of 12 from them this year.
August 10, 200719 yr Author Went to Lexington today and didn't get to watch the game. Great to see the Braves win today! 3 1/2 back. Bring on the Phillies.
August 10, 200719 yr Marlins finally got their act together and took one from the Phils. Atlanta back in second place.
