April 22, 200719 yr Did anyone else catch the stat about triple plays in major league history? I thought I heard there have only been 36 triple plays of the same nature in the history of baseball, that's amazing since the amount of games played is enormous.
April 22, 200719 yr I think it's safe to say that Hobbs doesn't like lefties, maybe if he gets enough ABs against them, he will get better. He's done alright against them considering he's left handed and his lack of experience. It's expected for his average to be a bit higher against right handers, but he is continuing to get quality at bats.

April 22, 200719 yr I think he only has 1 hit against the southpaws thus far.... He does, but he has 2 walks and 5 strikeouts compared to 9 hits, 6 walks and 4 strikeouts against righties. He's obviously better against right handers but he fouls off pitches and makes decent contact against lefties. I'm not losing sleep over it.
April 22, 200719 yr Mental note: Never attend a game that Cole Hamels pitchers. Or maybe we just can't hit?
April 22, 200719 yr Mental note: Never attend a game that Cole Hamels pitchers. Or maybe we just can't hit? He is a very good young pitcher.
April 22, 200719 yr He is a very good young pitcher. He was impressive, but he never hit above 92 on the radar gun.
April 22, 200719 yr He was impressive, but he never hit about 92 on the radar gun. He has good breaking pitches and can locate his stuff. He throws with the wrong hand so he doesn't need to throw hard. Knew he was going to be good when I saw him last year. This is probably his "break out" game.

This is probably his "break out" game. He was highly touted in my fantasy draft as well. But to throw 15 K's tonight and never hitting above 92, I think the Reds were helping him out a lot.

I don't think Buehrle broke 90 in his no-hitter. Placement is a huge part of it. Like Milton places his low 90 MPH fastball right down the middle.
