Way to go Georgetown G-Men (nice nickname, huh) finishes a perfect 28-0 season with a 74-66 win over Canal Winchester Prep! It was the schools first state title!

Georgetown ,Ohio and Georgetown ,Ky (Scott Co) won the State Tournaments in Ohio and Ky.

Wow this is wierd. Someone told me that they were undefeated and I could'nt believe it. CONGRATS G-MEN

Is this the same Georgetown team that Elliott County beat in the preseason panaroma at West Carter?

Was thinking about posting it here, but didn't know if that would be okay. Listened to the championship game on the radio and was really happy for everyone involved. First state basketball championship for any team from Brown Co or the Southern Buckeye league.

 

Granted they only play schools that are around their size, but this is about as close to a Hoosiers story as you might get.

What is the enrollment criteria for the class they participate in? How many students does G'town have?

That is very possible; the Georgetown coach is Jerry Underwood who played basketball at West Carter.

Not only was it Georgetown's first title; it was the first title for any school from their league (Southern Buckeye League).

Congrats to Georgetown High...I can remember reading about them earlier in the year when they first came on the radar. great story.

No, the paper said Georgetown was undefeated 28-0.

They were undefeated in the regular season. I think they did lose a scrimmage.
