What are the chances.......

I don't know if I would want Pitino back. I would focus on a younger coach if I'm Mitch.
Not exactly his MO.

History wise. And history wise, so are the Celtics.

Way too hard to compare the jobs from college to pro.

I'm comparing the reasons to take them.

Great history, prove that you're the magic rebuilder, and more money than you can dream about.

That's why he left Kentucky for the Celtics, and those are the reasons he'd come back to UK. The difference is, he's learned his lesson. I really believe that. And I genuinely think he's bitter over how UK fans treated him upon his return.

I do not want Pitino, I was glad when he left.

Louisville had a worse year than UK and a NIT the year before. I want real coaching talent not a me, me, me person like Rick.

I am sure that Rick wants to be asked because that is what makes him thrive. I have not seen anyone pursuing Pitino based on his current coaching skills and surely UK will not!

I'm sorry, but...

I think the chances of him leaving UofL (if asked) are as good as they were him leaving UK for the Celtics.

You ARE a lunatic. :D;)

I don't understand this post.

GCT had made a comment that Rick wouldn't come to Lexington because Louisville is a bigger, better city. So I just asked why Rick would have wanted to go to Louisville when Boston was a bigger, better city.

Rick also called Rupp "his house" last week but he is not coming back, and I don't think he will be asked back. UK needs to go with a younger coach.Rick not going to coach too many more years.

Until the last several weeks of the season the UL fans wanted him to be fired. I was feeling sorry for Pitino.

Good thing Sosa came around or he would have been in the NIT.

Really if UK had UL's record we would have wanted Pitino fired also.. look forward not back!

I certainly don't think Pitino will be involved at all.

But you don't have to be a magic rebuilder to get UK back to where they want to be. I think the streak is 15 or so years of winning an NCAA game... not quite the worst team in the league ala the Celtics. Also, in the college game you have much more control over a program than an NBA coach does over his organization.

Any now Rick will have a Top 5 program next season...

He was done with the Celtics two months before he came to Louisville, as I recall.

UKPAT - Would you really have been happy with the same record UL had in the last 2 years?

As a UK fan I would not, and as a UL fan I was not happy until the very end and hoping to look forward to next year.

Bottom line is UK needs new blood and a young up and coming coach!

 I don't know one single UofL fan that wanted Pitino fired. Sosa didn't save them from the NIT either, the freshman class did and the future looks very bright for UofL. I would bet they are Top 20 the entire season next year.
